My Question or Issue

a few weeks ago, i noticed i was unable to play songs that i had never played before on spotify. it didn't matter if i was able to play them on my phone; they would not work on my laptop. no album art, artist name, song title, or song length would show up when i selected new songs. i could still play ones that were already in my playlists. radio also didn't work, and has been unavailable for several weeks.

sometimes, "made for you" playlists would work briefly, but every song i didn't know would quickly be removed until only a few songs were left.

ive uninstalled and reinstalled spotify several times, and nothing has changed. my computer doesnt need updates either. earlier today, i decided to uninstall and reinstall again. when i logged back in, all of my playlists would show up, but they are empty. only one of them has a song, and its unavailable in the USA anyway. everything is also taking a very long time to load.

spotify still works on my phone. its the same account, but i think the "connect to facebook" feature is having issues because before, my name would show up on my account. now, its just my old username from before i ever connected facebook and i also dont have an icon. and yes i am currently connected to facebook.

also- connecting devices doesnt do anything. I tried to play a new song on my phone and then listen through my laptop, but it still wouldnt play. if i disconnected from my laptop, it would magically work again.

does anyone have a relatively simple solution to this? i just want to listen to my music without relying on my phone's terrible battery.

Hey there @bruhhbecks!

This is a known issue with the desktop app and it's currently under investigation. You can track it here and vote for it so it catches more attention. Also I'd suggest you to try the workaround described there, it seems to be fixing the issue for most of the users. Hope this will get a fix on Spotify's end soon.

Have a nice day 🙂
