Android Lock Screen

Solved!

Android Lock Screen

HI I've just joined Spotify Premium and liking it so far. The thing that's bugging me is no full screen widget with album art on my lock screen (or even on my home page for that matter).

I've moved from using double twist with iTunes which worked great and had a nice lock screen which I now miss terribly.

I've searched and searched so many sites but all the hits are over 12 months old and I cannot find a definitive answer.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on Android 6.0.1

How can I get a full size lock screen with album art and controls etc?

I tried a couple of TP lock screens bit they are either crap or full of ads.

It's because of the Samsung's latest firmware which is blocking that, you're kinda forced to use 3rd party lock screen app for now. If you have any other issues with that firmware make sure to check out this thread below.

Ahh OK cheers, strange that double twist seems to do it fine though...

Trust Samsung to f**k everything up!

It is strange yeah I agree, we can just hope that Samsung releases an update in the future which will fix this problem.

Any recommended lock screen apps that aren't full of ads or malware etc? I don't ming paying a couple quid if it's a nice one. I use Spotify while driving so I could do with a decent lock screen with big buttons so it's easy to skip etc

In the past when I used phenomenal Gingerbread firmware (RIP Gingerbread) I used to love Launcher Pro, but I have no idea what on earth happened to it. It simply vanished from Google Play Store. It was the only app I ever bought on my Android phone.

For now I highly recommend Dodol Locker which is completely free, if I still had an Anrdoid phone that would be the only I'm gonna use.

Actually looks like it's back, the ol' good Launcher Pro, it costs €4.05 though but it's worth every penny!

Hmm not been updated in 5 years though?

Yeah, that's the only downside of that. That was phenomenal in the past, maybe it still works though. You can always test Launcher Pro free though. If that's not working I recommend Dodol.

OK cheers I'll give them a go..

OK dodol flagged up insecure on my antivirus. Tried the next lock screen from Microsoft and like it.

It's not full screen music but slightly larger than stock Spotify and in the middle of the screen rather than at the top.

Wow that's weird, antivirus apps on mobile devices might flag a lot of apps as a malmware because they're not as sophisticated as they're on pc.

It's not perfect but it works for me (Andrioid 6):

1. Go to Settings>Lock Screen>Sitch off: Skip the slide page 2.

2. Go to Settings>Sound and notification>Click on: When device is locked>Select Show all notification content.

3. If you want to hide sensitive content in your apps for your lock screen then: Go to Settings>Sound and notification>Click on: App notifications>then select the app you want yo hide contente>Switch on Hide sensitive content. Do this or each app you want.

Hope it helps!

Still, this is something Spotify SHOULD fix and SHOULD prevent from happening. They are ooh so Agile, ooh so CI/CD, but still, this "bug" didn't show up in their tests? This baffles me.
