Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

We're happy to announce that the option to switch between accounts is being implemented. We'll start with Android mobile devices and tablets. Remember this is slowly being rolled out for everyone, so if you don't see it now, just make sure to keep your app up to date.

At the moment, we don’t have any info to share about when this will be available for iOS users. Rest assured that any news will be posted here.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community.

Hi everyone, we like this idea, but at this time we're not looking at implementing it just yet.

@spotify: Hopefully you're not still serious about that? Have you not yet interpreted the signs of the times? This thread alone has over 1600 upvotes – and there are many other threads with the same request (and growing lack of understanding)!

This feature really should be implemented. I cannot believe that this is not possible yet when I can do it on all other streaming services. I have a family account just for the reason to not get my kids music or my workout music into my regular account. Having to logout, find my password in my password app etc is just two much hassel to do for instance while driving. Please just add this feature

suggest we all post message to X https://twitter.com/eldsjal to try and make this happen

it is soo frustrating - my music is getting seriously mixed up with all my kids choices.

Maybe time to move if they don't do something soon

I have just seen Spotify announce that their smart TV app DOES allow you to easily switch between accounts.
I've not tried it yet.
So, can we HOPE / EXPECT this will be rolled out to mobile and tablet soon?

Hello, I see  after all this time there's still a v healthy demand for an easy login switch account feature

Unfortunately  I couldn't wait any longer, so  for convenience I eventually ended up purchasing a 2nd tablet just to operate  mom's Spotify account. 🙄Yeah I know😕...it's ridiculous ended up having  to do that, and she will never be able to operate it ... an expensive & poor value  fix and a  long way round for a little  convenience & peace of mind  for mom & I . Alexa would not hv been an option for us  due to mom's dementia.

Im disappointed with Spotify customer services'  lack of interaction/ interest on this thread.  The stone walling  is just rude. For this reason I am  not  tempted  to apply for  Spotify premium despite the freq spam offers.

☝️Sportify, do your  bit and support dementia awareness, make Yr platform more dementia & family friendly, resolve this community need. 👀

Use Case: Your regular account and your "Music I play in a band with my friends". You don't want one profile's listening messing up your recommendations for what you normally listen to.

You are in a band with friends. Not a professional band, just having fun. You play a lot of songs that are not otherwise songs that you'd ever listen to. You do not want them in your recommendations, or filling up your recently played, or popping up on your CarPlay. You want "music I like" and "music I play with the band" to be completely separate.

@spotify we're paying a family subscription for my wife, me and my 2 kids so everyone can have it's own recommendations and separated lists without adds. But we only have 2 devices. Because we can't easily switch between our accounts we end up using only 2 of them. If you can't implement this, then I'm going to change my subscription to duo because there's no sense in having a family subscription with 2 devices if we can't switch easily between accounts

@spotify, I'm really into 60s, 70s and 80s rock, but according to Spotify, apparently my new favourite artist is Taylor Swift. I do have a 12 yo daughter and we are forced to share a device. Just saying, quick and simple profile switching is getting critical. If you're looking for a model, try looking at ANY other streaming service

My kids are too young to have their own devices, but I am tired of my For You being full of stuff that isn't what I really want. If I could switch to their account while we're in the car I could be getting much better recommendations for all of us. Flex your algorithm, get a more accurate picture of your account holders! It is ridiculous that this hasn't been implemented. If every crappy streaming service can do it, you can too!!!!
