Add Equalizer in Spotify

For ipod touch there is a huge need for eq because Spotify bypasses the regular Apple Sound Settings.

I use high end headphones but need to be able to fintune the settings so I can enjoy my music and tech equally.

So please, please make an EQ for the spotify app

Updated: 2015-09-17

Spotify now lets you enjoy music audio the way you want to hear it with the launch of our in-app equalizer on the iPhone and iPad.

Simply update the latest version of the Spotify iOS app and go to Settings > Playback > Equalizer to access the new feature.

If you're one of our Android friends, we already have a native equalizer which you can access inside the app under Audio Effects in the Settings.

If you'd like to see an equalizer on desktop you can give kudos to this "Equalizer for the Desktop Version" idea. Thanks!

Not to mention there was a hidden one in a previous version which worked like a charm, now mysteriously gone in the current "update".

To put it in popular speaking terms: Why. The. **bleep**?

A simple clarification from the devs would be HIGHLY appreciated.

I can't believe there still isn't an EQ in spotify...pathetic.

it really makes no sense at all as to why there is no equalizer in the Spotify iOS app. we're paying a premium price for a premium service and we deserve to have a simple equalizer in the app to customize our listening experience. i'm starting to think the previous one was hidden purposely in hope that Apple wouldn't catch it, then was removed in the latest updates at the request of Apple. if this is the case, would someone from Spotify at least shed light on this instead of leaving the whole community in the dark about this? we need to be informed. it makes no sense that a 3rd party app (gMusic) for a service that isn't even based on the Apple App Store or iOS (Google Play All Access) has an equalizer and the dedicated Spotify app for iOS doesn't have one. get it together Spotify, or you WILL lose customers over something as little as an equalizer.

Please make this happen. As you can see there is plenty of support for it, and it EXISTED at one point, so I can't imagine there is a ton of dev work?

I enjoy the EQ on my mobile android app, so why can't I enjoy it on my Mac desktop?  As a musician playing cover music, it is essential that I be able to set EQ to amplify the bass and cut down the highs to learn parts.  Spotify has made it so easy to create playlists of different setlists for different bands, why can't you just add the basic functionality of EQ.  Come on, you can do it.

This makes no sense, two very close friends of mine just left spotify because of this EQ problem. I personally think they have not been authorised by Apple to add the EQ, that is why they don't give any reasons for it, otherwise they would need to blame apple for it. And again, they let the community complain about it so apple folks get to see how frustrating it has become for the users. there is no way they would let the community complain about something for so long and not give a toss about it. There is no technical issue nor a lack of talent at spotify. It is simply apple bullying everyone to follow their rules. Apple actually got some good reasons for it on their side. Tweaking with music sound could immediately affect the voice quality of the phone calls. (In case your phone rings whilst listening to music). And again switch back to music once the phone call is over. There also exists the problem of the eq in the ios settings, which has been carefully tuned for ipod/music app. I don't want to go into the details, however there needs to be extra processes involved in monitoring several interrupts from potentially several apps, which could give you a hard time using headset/speakers accessories. Apple has forced others to keep it simple and within the APi limitations but for spotify is a big deal, and since apple is already moving towards providing their own version of spotify (iradio) which has just taken off, they like to see the users frustrated. So they would either enjoy listening to iradio with access to eq in the settings or simply buy their eq-required album from itunes.

generally 80's soul is badly recorded.. bass sounds tiny.. i love mix of jazz & electro (sounds perfect on my Kef's) but I need some more bass around 40-50Hz with music recorded in 80's...so an EQ would be great. Please add it !!!

It's just the missing piece of the puzzle - really would be a great addition to a great app

I'll even accept a 3 or 5 band EQ with locked frequencies and bandwidths and simple level controls would be great.

My dream EQ for Spotify.  Minimum of 7 Bands 1st band = High Pass, 7th Band = Low Pass, bands 2-6 = Peak Filters with variable frequency, resonance, and level.

Ultimate dream = 12+ EQ bands.
