[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Switch to Google Play. Same price for single and family membership. A bonus that seals the deal is no adverts in YouTube. Simple check box in settings will filter explicit songs in Google Play.
One can only assume that Spotify is commercially bound in some way that prevents them from offering their users a choice as to what music they hear and therefore cannot implement this much sort after feature. There is no technical barrier to what we have asked for and after so many years, it is clear they never well. Vote with your money and switch to another service. If enough people do this then the artists will push Spotify to do the right thing or Spotify will go the way of the dinosaurs...

I have no affiliation with Google, but I do feel very strongly about this Explicit feature request and pushing Spotify to comply.
You only have to read the Rules of this community to appreciate the double standards Spotify is applying.

Still waiting for this. I'm so embarrassed and annoyed when listening with my family and swear words are obvious in songs for artist radio, playlists etc

Just adding my voice to the others on how useful this would be.

Additionally, another option to replace with "clean" versions would be equally cool/helpful/useful.

Definitely want this feature. We've just upgraded to Spotify premium for family but will be dropping it as I can't give my 11 year old access and don't want my younger kids hearing explicit songs if I play music around the house. Everything else has parental features why not Spotify?

I can never safely play music at work because of this! I think I will cancel and move elsewhere!

Get with it, Spotify. We can't use your service when we're with our kids... I'm ready to cancel my premium.

Wow, this has been a request from customers at least as far back as 2012, yet it still isn't important enough to Spotify to have been implemented?
