[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Thank you

How is this not a thing already? Just copy Google Music and add a button that says "Skip explicit tracks". Does nobody working at Spotify have children?

Guys wake up and do this or I'll need to CANCEL

I am not convinced anyone is working at Spotify. Not a peep from them on
this topic.

Pandora does this, and other family members are suggesting we switch purely for this functionality. Seems extreme but I can see this discussion being replicated on other households.

Why risk losing users and revenue for something so simple. You already identify which songs are 'explicit' - just enable a filter based on this field!

Really need the ability to exclude explicit material. My children don't need to hear that stuff. Can't be that hard??

I'm giving it until the end of this month and then I'm out a here, sorry. Could be one less premium member?

Can't be too hard to exclude explicit material??? Don't need my kids listening to this stuff. I'll give it until the end of the month and then I'm outa here, sorry! May be one less premium member to deal with, let's see?

Well they obviously have no intention of doing this. 288 pages and FIVE years of requests.  I'm going to have to drop my family plan apparently

Spotify, are you anywhere near to adding this simple, but necessary feature???  You obviously have no concern of people jumping ship!

I LEFT you spotify, i tried to wait it out but my kids are more important than your service and lack of help with explicit filter. BYE BYE, Google will now get my money. As for my playlists i found a program that will do it perfectly if anyone is worried you cant get them copied from spotify try this site https://freeyourmusic.com/.   it does cost money, but for me well worth it, i tried a few other free optioons couldnt get it to work right, this program did it with minimal effort, just got to buy it good luck everyone
