[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

I have four young children. I am subscribed to Spotify Premium, but I'm cancelling it today because this feature doesn't exist. A simple button to skip playback of tracks marked explicit, along with a basic PIN-based locking of that button to ensure only I can enable it is all that's necessary. It's a pity that Spotify doesn't recognise the value of parental controls. I've not come across a service like it that doesn't have this kind of feature.

This is an important feature for me, as I don't want to hear the explicit versions of songs.  It should have an option to simply play the radio version of everything.  It looks like it's been over a year since Spotify commented on this feature.  I just joined Spotify and went straight to the Premium version.  However, I am strongly considering stopping my subscription due to this issue.  Hard to believe this wasn't put in from the beginning...

I would like to get a subscription for my kids so they'll leave mine alone, but without this feature, it's a deal buster.

Please add this soon

thanks

New user and I am really bummed to find out that there is no filter. I tend to do most of my music listening at work and it goes out over the store speaker system. I was using Pandora and it has a SFW mode. I wold much prefer to use Spotify since I have more control. For $10/month it is very surprising there is no filter mode.

This would be excellent as my church uses spotify for pre and post music.

Also it would be nice to just have a explicit AND a radio edit version of the tracks and have them clearly labeled as such. I've played many songs without the explicit label that are indeed explicit (for instance Justin Timberlakes Suit and Tie).

Also needs an option to only play the explicit version of songs and ignore all the clean versions so those of us who want to only listen to the authentic version the way the artist invisioned it, can avoid all the censored versions.

please add this level of control

Excellent idea.  Keep this as a filter option for individual users who would prefer to have the explicit tracks skipped in their radio stations.

Can you give us a possible timeframe for more info/implementation? I was about to sign up my business and start playing instore but not willing to risk offending elderly customers or families.

Thanks
