[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Im a potential customer on a temporary permium account. I love the service so far but if there is now way to filter the language my child listens to then it is of little use to me. I would love this feature!

This is literally the most dumbass thing I have ever hear of. You offer family accounts but no ability to restrict explicit content. Wow. Just wow. I will be cancelling my service.

Number the songs of the playlist to better recognize the ones you like the most while driving is difficult to look at the title thanks

It's been 5 years since this idea was presented!  Please add this feature!!

I'm surprised this feature isn't there already - and I'd like to suggest something related: the lead Prime for Family account holder should be able to restrict explicit lyrics  on subaccounts (eg Kids) but leave them open if he/she wishes on other subaccounts (eg spouse). Without this feature I'm not sure I will make my planned upgrade from Premium to Family.

The lack of control over explicit lyrics means I am unable to play my discover weekly playlist when looking after my grandkids. It's really not good enough to not have a user control over songs you give a clear warning about.

I actually added a family plan but am actively looking for alternatives because only my wife and I can use it.  Being able to set explicit filters on child accounts and to toggle it on and off on my own account while at work or when I don't want to hear explicit lyrics is a real value.  The first solution I find with that will get my business... and from what I've read here, a lot of others too.

I mean, it's not like we CAN'T listen to the clean version of the songs. (Big difference between https://open.spotify.com/track/7iXF2W9vKmDoGAhlHdpyIa and https://open.spotify.com/track/5sdjP6WpDav6FZUE20efFs) Still, you have to go hunting for it like a wolf after a rabbit.

They obviously don't care about what we want. This has to be a very simple fix.  I love Spotify otherwise. I've been a subscriber for years but can't listen to any of the auto mixes due to this. I only listen to albums I choose.

This is a damnly interesting feature, i don't know why it isn't implemented yet!!
