[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Mate, it's 2018 already. What are you guys doing about enabling a playmode to filter out explict content? A lot of us have children, and the frequent occurence of explicit content means we cannot use your otherwise brilliant recommendation engines when they're around.

You have the metadata, you should be able to roll this out in a sprint's time - tops!

I am perplexed as to why Spotify would offer Family subscription but not give us options to control the content for young and impressionable ears. It doesn't make sense at all. Why do we even have to vote on this?!

Spotify know your childrens needs better than you do?

I work in a hospital school for children between the ages of 4 and 16, we often have spotify in the background while working with children. As the older children have more specific music tastes that are more likely to include bad language it is difficult to allow them to choose the music as it would not be appropriate for a 4 year old. If we could block explicit songs from playing, we could allow the children to choose music more freely, bringing a little of 'normal' back into their day.

What's the f***ing status of this? I'm tired of paying good money to hear some a**h**e spew c**p into my ear when I ask Spotify to play popular music for me.

Come on Spotify. Up your game.

Come on! The most voted, most commented and easiest to implement idea ... is ignored for 6 years? Why don't you try explain that without sounding stupid?

After all these years Spotify still hasn't implemented a explicit lyric button.  Do you realize how many more people / families would signup for Spotify?  Crazy that such a simple upgrade (asked for by many users) hasn't been implemented.  Please listen to your customers!!!!!
