[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

There really is no @#$% excuse for this not being ^#$%$ implemented by now. You have hundreds thousands of users asking for it since @#%@#% 2012. Your in the middle of @#$@$@ testing a new $##% beta. The function apparently even @#$@# already exists in your @#$@  API. Just add the @#$% button so we can all #$%% move on.

p.s. This is what it @#$% sounds like to listen to playlsts like the  #$%#$% "Tuesday new tracks" list without this @#$%@ feature available. The last T.I. track that played used the N-word 97 @#$@# times before I could dash up two @#$% flights of stairs. #$%$# come on Spotify.

p.p.s. Note I feel T.I. has every right to say whatever he wants in his music. Just as we would all have the right (and ability) not to have to listen to it if the Spotify players didn't have such a basic %#$% feature missing. W.T.#$% ???

Yes please! iTunes Radio already has this feature.

Its been well over 2 years since this issue has come up! well Spotify are you ever going to do anything about it??? Just got a free trial and will not be continuing with my membership unless this is an option. It can't be all that hard, plenty other music apps have them... whats the hold up???

I would REALLY like to see you implement an explicit lyrics filter. I teach in a public school and my kids LOVE Spotify, they love the current music that plays in the "Today's Top Hits" stream, but I simply cannot have the F bomb being dropped randomly in my room. If you want to build brand loyalty in a younger audience, they're sitting in my room waiting for you to bring a more sophisticated and filterable product to them.

Just FYI I have managed to create a program that skips anything that has the explicit tag. Curently it only works on Mac and it is still a bit buggy. I'll release it when I have managed to make it a bit more stable.

Please please add this feature ASAP. We need the explicit content turned off for kids.

my company would allow Spotify as a music source that can be played at work if it had a Explicit Filter!

Having explicit music start playing unvoluntarily in my house makes me not want to even use Spotify. I do not want to hear explicit music. Beyond that, I especially do not want my kids to hear that music. PLEASE... fix this or we will use a different service to help filter the crap!
