Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

I was so upset when my widget disappeared yesterday. I'm a premium user, and use that widget every day. Why disable something useful?

How can you even think that remove widget is a good idea ?? Premium for many years, since you had to be premium for android use. And that's the first time I regret paying the app... I'm going somewhere else.

I am utterly bewildered as to why they removed the widget! I honestly think this is the most stupid thing Spotify has done!

With a family account and well over a year subscription I just can't believe that I'm paying for this now, it was without question the best feature and now it's gone, don't be dumb and bring it back asap, or you'll find you'll lose another customer, I came from Apple music to Spotify and I may well go back.

Removal of this widget changes the app immensely, gonna stop paying and go back to google play if the widget doesnt come back soon.

Seriously looking at other services. Between this and messing up the sorting on the add to playlist drop down menu, seems like spotify is trying to get me to leave.

If the following link isn't further proof that Spotify doesn't care one iota about customer feedback or ideas, I truly don't know what would.  Check out the status of each "Live Idea".

Losing the widget loses my interest in Spotify.

It's seems little but it is the main way I interact with apps. A music app without a widget is, in my opinion, useless.

Another stupid idea. I use the widget daily. I'm not sure how the widget is a new idea or how it can take that much to keep it as was

As a result of the removal of essential features to the Spotify android app my subscription has gone from "Subscribed" to "Not Right Now".

Thank you for kicking off music streaming big scale, I'll continue using other services that listens to their customers.
