[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

They bring back the widget, or I stay with another service.

What the heck, I drive daily, and the widget was very convenient when you just mount your fone on your dashboard and press play button in the widget.

Remove a widget but no proper replacement. Very good move!

Backwards step removing the widget. Bad UX too adding an extra step to get to my control. A factor the really makes having to use notications is that I had all the notifications turned off previously as I don't find them useful. I wonder if your devs considered personal preference before shoehorning everyone into using this new method.

 And removing such a major feature without educating users on the new method (without me having to Google it) is a major CX fail in my books

You are Literally taking away something very useful for consumers just to wait reintroduce it to get more attention. If it's not broken don't try to "fix" it. Removing this great feature was absolutely pointless! You have so many more issues to fix and work on but instead you take away something that is utilized heavily among android users. What made that feature bad enough to remove? Very very poor and inconsiderate decision.

Well, I'm stuck using an old version with updates turned off. I'm not interested in changing my habits because someone else thinks I should. The widget worked. Still works now that I ditched the update. What a stupid idea. Clearly plenty of people use the widget. A lot of us are paying customers. Bring it back or we'll vote with our wallets!

I was just doing the trial and loved Spotify but now that they took away the widget I'm canceling.. I mean why on earth would they do that? Brain damage lol? They're gonna lose people over this

There is a giant blank space on my main screen where this widget used to reside for years. YEARS. The removal of the widget was an unpleasant surprise and the fact that I had to search Google and dig through forums to figure out WTH happened makes me very unhappy with Spotify right now. Not cool bro.

Dude literally SAME like what in the world!! I thought my phone was broken but no the only thing that is broken is spotify.
