Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

You have got to be kidding me. I search my whole phone for 10 min looking for the widget only to find out you deleted it?! What kind of **bleep** is that? The widget was very very useful during my day to day life. It helped me play  music and your (limited) selection of podcasts. I have been subbed to spotify since 2012. I've used this app for YEARS. This is a big let down. Please put the widget back and make it fast. Unless you want some other platform to rise to the occasion of making up for your bad decision. Disappointed AF.

I used my Spotify widget everyday not only to control music but to open up the app direct from the home screen. It allowed for sleek control of my music as well as being able to quickly view names of songs currently playing without being intrusive on my phone experience. The removal of this feature now means I have to touch my phone while driving with maps on. Not intuitive and a step back in the wrong direction. Where there is now a blank space on my home screen is where the widget sat sleekly and operated very well in the background, it provided me with all the song details at a glance as well as album art.

If you want them to bring back the widget, make sure you update your Play Store review to reflect that.

No more widget?! Seems stupid to remove such a useful part of your service. I used the widget on a daily basis and was confused when I didn't see it there this morning- Shocked when I realized it was intentional on your part. It feels like taking away the widget is a way of saying Android users just aren't as important to us. And how can you already make a decision that this isn't an important thing to do anything about when people are just figuring out the issue? Shouldn't you at least pretend to think about it?

Dear spotify Team, 

Removing the widget really makes no sense at all. So many people, including me, are using it daily and now have no fallback Option.

Will downgrade to an oder Version until you bring the widget back.

Let's keep this simple - bring back the widget, or I'll switch to another service that has it. Which is pretty much all of them.

Removing one of, if not the most useful function in your app was an insanely bad idea. Are you sure someone from one of your competitors didn't slip into your dev team and sabotage your app on purpose?  I can only hope you've seen enough in the community responses to know this idea was a mistake and you fix it soon.  Until you do I will give Amazon Music a try. Wait too long and you could lose me as a paid subscriber.

If widget does not return will unsubsribe by the end of the week. Spotify moving backwards and clearly dont care about customers. If I saw backlash to this extent i would of straight away released a statement saying "we have heard our custumers will bring back widget as soon as possible". But its clear they really dont care about paying customers.
