[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

This would be a great addition to the app, easily being able to pick up where I left off yesterday directly from the home screen would be a much better experience than I'm having now....

I've installed an old version of the app and now have the widget back.  Auto updates turned off.  I will not update until Spotify stops working.  The widget had better be back again by then!

Ridiculous change to the app. Who was the Einstein that came up with it?! I use the widget all the time. The app is only accessible through the notification bar if the app is actually playing..

What an odd choice. I don't want to attack the Spotify employees that post here, as it was likely not their choice and they are simply posting on behalf of the business. Sometimes businesses make illogical moves, or at the very least seem illogical. Unfortunately, this is just another instance where a business makes a decision and we as customers have to move on because we will not be taken into consideration.

Bring the widget back! It's much easier to use Spotify! One of the best features of Spotify.

Have gotten so frustrated with Spotify the last year or so. Moved the search bar into the drop down menu instead of the top of the playlist and now getting rid of the widget. Guess more touches/swipes means greater efficiency. Fist yourself please.

I ´ve never received advertising from deezer, except today by mail ! 🙂 Have to see, if they have a widget.
