Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

Love how Spotify must poll users to see if they use a function, just so they can kill it. Attn Slotify- have you ever heard of Do Not Disturb? I have it on, so I'm not getting any notifications. I still have music playing, controlled via widget. So telling me to use a non-existent notification is absolutely no help! None! Stupid stupid stupid 😠

Google play music seems to look nice where my Spotify widget used to be.

Users want the widget to come back ... If something is useful, why do you delete it? Did it bother someone? Spotify designers are having very bad ideas.

So 6500 votes x $150 = nearly 1 million dollar annually. What is the threshold after which you will reconsider bringing back a basic feature ?

Just bring back the widget...I use it every day. I'm paying for premium service (which I may now cancel) for both the music and ease of having the widget on my home page. You do what you have to do I'll do what I have to do. I'll give ya a month.

What's next? No pause button?! The widget is an absolute MUST for me to use Spotify. Whose idea was this? Did someone get fired and this was their last act of defiance??!  Did someone forget April Fool's Day is APRIL 1st?
