[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

If Spotify doenst bring back the widget I'm going to unsubscribe from the service. I already stopped using Spotify because the android app has the widget and that's why I play my music from. I don't want to have to loa dup the up and start clicking a bunch fo times when I can just click once form my home screen

Started trial of Google music family. Assuming all is okay will be cancelling spotify family.

Family will more than cope. You can even port  playlists and libraries over.

I re-signed up for Spotify and discovering this feature is gone is really dissapointing.  Sometimes I accidently swipe it out of my notification drop down, so no it's not the same thing.  This is really stupid and even more stupid to ignore all the unhappy customers.

WORST. DECISION. EVER. 

 

If this thread can get about 10.000 votes whitin 5 days, which is about 20 times the amount necessary to have the idea put on the agenda, you (Spotify developers) must be either VERY stupid or EXTREMELY ignorant not to take this thread serious and rethink your decision. 

 

UTERLY DISAPOINTED after years of being a very content user.

Sorry, @Spotify but you really, really, REALLY blew it removing the Android Widget. Shows that you are completely out of touch with your Android users. I expect you're going to begin bleeding users unless/until you bring it back. 

I'm about a week from cancelling my service and returning to Google. FIX THIS NOW!

The widget was one of the best things about Spotify! I use it all the time for work and now I have to switch to another program because pulling up the app every time to change the music is incredibly inefficient and inconvenient. The lock screen and notification bar are notoriously unreliable - usually just freezing the program and sometimes my phone so I completely relied on the widget. I've been a premium member with Spotify for years now and am Incredibly disappointed you're not listening to your community's feedback.
