[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

This is ridiculous and your workarounds don't work. There is no Spotify notification visible on my S10e, and the lockscreen widget disappears as soon as I pause playback. So how to unpause playback without having to open the app?

How about this. My cell carrier includes Tidal and Amazon Music in my monthly plan.

 

I still pay for Spotify because I've been a loyal paid subscriber since near Day 1 (US). Why should I continue now?

There WAS ONE! Until some stupid **bleep** at Spotify 'retired it'.

Are you listening Spotify? This has to be the most idiotic 'bright idea' you've ever had.

Bring the widget back or lose another premium sunscriber, OK?

Whoever had that idea must have had an iOS device.
BRING THE WIDGET BACK. The notification bar does not work when Spotify is not manually activated.
This sucks big time.

Removing the widget feature is probably the most stupid move possible, will definitely cancel my subscription.

This is utterly unacceptable as a loyal customer if this is not reintroduced I WILL be cancelling my subscription, I used this all the time, what an idiotic decision

This is ridiculous! Why would u take this away. Did u think to consult your user base. I use android due to the ease of use of widgets. You haven't communicated this out appropriately. If this was my business you would have an after action review to look at the mistakes made here.

Ill give you a month to respond with something more than not right now.

Seriously one of the dumbest decisions. If I didnt want a widget I would have went to iOS. Please return it before I decide to use other streaming services moving forward.
