Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

I thought this was a bug and have reinstalled it multiple times just to get it back. **bleep** man. I used the widget every single day. It makes my life simpler and easier to play music. Redundant my **bleep**...!!! How do I play a song on Spotify if it is not running? Now I have to open the app and then click on play? First of all I can't clear the app, cause it **bleep**ing ends the music. I want it back. Period.

Moved over to Deezer with the help of a site called Soundiiz . Deezer is great. I'm digging their "flow" which is better than the "daily mixes" that Spotify has. Highly recommend both. I actually like Deezer's interface more than Spotify's too.

I am also very frustrated by this change. Another reason it is so frustrating for me is that a while back the Spotify section in my notifications bar went away if I had it paused for more than a minute or so. This was frustrating in and of itself but I let it go because the widget was easier anyway.  So, saying users can just go to their notifications bar as a workaround is false, at least in my case.  I have to open the app, there is no other option.

Estoy totalmente desacuerdo con la nueva versión de spotify no aviso que iba a quitar el Widget, se me hace ilógico es muy fácil de usar nomas lo pones en pantalla principal y cambiabas las cancion; pero ahora es meterte a la App después cambiar la música y mas relajo hacer eso yo estaba feliz ayer en la noche hasta que veo en la mañana ya no esta el widget desinstale el spotify para ver si lo podía bajar el gidget hasta que veo en en los periódicos online que lo habían quitado, spotify regresanos el Widget por favor pliss me era is very easy de usar cuando ando en bicicleta cambiaba de canción listo pero ahora va ser mas complicado es meterme a la App y después cambiar la canción.

I canceled my account. I'm going to try the three month trial of Apple Music. So far I like the UI and they have a widget. I didn't like Tidal's UI (too small for me) and that's what brought me to Spotify. Unfortunately the fact that the widget is gone and more importantly the way this was handled - no notice and that useless MODERATOR started poll ultimately is why I left. This is HORRIBLE customer service. As you can see my subscription is paid for a little while yet; hopefully something changes but I doubt it. I'm certainly not counting on it based on the blatant disregard I've seen so far.

wth I heavily rely on my widget. Bring it back or I'm unsubscribing and going back to Google play. Who TF even thought what was a great idea in the first place. They should be fired 😡

After already dumbing down the UI, this was the last straw. Cancelled premium and am trying YouTube Music Premium for free.

This might be the worst decision you ever made. Don´t you make some kind of survey as to what users think before you remove features?! I'm currently thinking about cancelling my subscription, like so many others have already done.

With all due respect...Return that widget or we're quitting... If you introduce somerhing new, that's fine, but don't delete old (good) stuff if you can't serve with something adequate. Thanks.

I still don't understand why Spotify removes features on their each app update. I personally want to see features instead of feature removal. Can someone from product management side within Spotify should consider adding features to the app please? It has been years and the Spotify app is just... the same except removed features for so long that I cannot use this app anymore. If you are looking into removing features then bring a lite version instead. Please bring the widget back! I don't understand why the widget has been removed. This doesn't makes sense at all. I will end up stop getting updates from Google Play store so that Spotify will stay great for me. I personally don't want to hear any updates from Spotify team at this point since they keep ruining user experience.
