Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

The widgit is a vital safety feature to start playing music. Removing this will lead to distracted driving.  Spotify devs will have blood on their hands for doing this.

I gave Spotify one last shot to keep my business...same canned answers from their online chat agent.  "The dropdown notifications feature functions like the Android Widget." 

I just cancelled my Spotify Premium Family subscription.  I am disappointed in the lack of customer service or customer concern from Spotify.  Goodbye Spotify...onward to Amazon Music.

VLC, next

SoundCloud, next,

Spotify is fourth,

And Google Play Music rounds out the bottom of my media widget home screen. 

What in the world makes you think we want to give up that simplicity?

What are you, Google now?

I've switched back to Google Music. It's very comparable to Spotify, a little better in some areas, a little worse in others. The google subscription includes youtube premium which makes it a better deal for me.

Why the holy **bleep** would you remove a feature like that? 

The mind boggles when stuff like this happens who ever came up with the idea didn't know how meny uses it...

My issues were actually with the update design in general but I didn't know that you had done this as well which to me is absolutely appalling.

I honestly cannot understand what it is with app designers removing features that are convenient and helpful for users.

it does seem to be something that happens in a global scale and not just with one single app.

Anyone with common sense knows that having a widget is a good idea and useful so my question to you is what is the actual reason for you to remove it in the best place.

The only conclusion I can think of is that you are intentionally trying to irritate and basically weed out the unloyal users that will go to another music platform and the ones are loyal to stick around and wait for the update. 

This is a  service we pay for Spotify Corporate Design Team so just letting you know so our ideas definitely do count and should be upheld in the highest regard and not simply ignored.

I have cancelled my Family account as well... No point in paying for crappy service and support.
