[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

Hey folks,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this idea in the Community.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

Dear whoever the **bleep** is in charge,

I told you a few weeks ago that I would be cancelling today if my widget hadn't returned. I am here today to tell you that I wasn't bluffing. I will be cancelling at 5pm EST unless you announce plans to reinstitute the widget. If I cancel today, I will never pay for Spotify premium ever again.

Nevermind, I'm not waiting 14 hours to find out you're not reinstating the widget. I just cancelled for the last time, and you guys just gave Google play a customer. **bleep** yourselves.

If you have an old phone save your playlists to the phone and remove all internet access. Free Spotify for life.

Just becuase you've burried this post from the ideas exchange doesn't mean that the >15000 people sufficiently **bleep** off about this to log on to the website to express their frustration have forgotten about this. Bring back the **bleep** widget!

Folks....it's not the best answer, but it's someone's answer.... Third party widget.

I'm going to take a page from your book and when my monthly renewal comes up, I'll respond "NOT RIGHT NOW"

I don't know why Spotify is **bleep**-bent taking out all the good features it ever had and adding nothing. Was it secretly taken over by a competitor? What the **bleep** are they doing?

Well, this is where I cancel my subscription. I'm not going to keep paying for an app that's actively sabotaging itself. Especially since the only reason seems to be so they dont have to pay a dev for an extra hour of work every year to keep it updated along with Android.

The widget was a staple on my home page. One month in and still a gaping hole. Used this feature everyday and got excited when I saw a new Android update. Guess what? Still no **bleep**ing widget. What kind of company removes features? 15k votes and still no response. I will be canceling my subscription.

The subscription is cancelled, the migration to Tidal is complete.

When your company's net worth is in the dumps, think of this: You lost because you angered your customers.
