Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

I loved the home screen widget! Easy access to a "remote" for your music. I'd love it back, and while at it, I'd love it updated with new features, for example, multiple sizes 🙂

You guys have marked this idea as "not right now" Which according to your definitions means "Not Right Now - We talked about this internally and it’s not on our timeline for the next few months or more." Since it appears you guys have talked about this internally and decided you don't intend to reverse this decision, consider me a customer lost. There are multiple other music streaming services that offer useful functionality, which is something you guys have just removed.

Ok first I decided to wait a few days and  see Spotify's reaction to that mess.

Now when I see THAT : you ask us to vote for a NEW feature which is actually not new AT ALL. Are you kidding us ???

I am off to Google Play Music. Now cancelling a 8yo subscription to Spotify Premium and then Family.

1. You take away the widget without any forewarning about the move because you thought maybe backlash wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't such a convenient feature and no one would miss it. Wrong.

2. You don't apologize to your loyal supporters, instead you double down. 

3. Knowing a large portion of us love this feature (among many others you have ripped away from us before) you continually ignore us when we reach out and give us this message flat out saying "we hear you but even with your vote, we aren't going to be giving it back anytime soon":

Once I sync my playlists, I'm done with Spotify after 5 years. Thank you for making that decision much easier. Hope losing so many of us will finally get your act together.

I was _so_ confused today to notice I no longer had my widget on my home screen.... Now, having to use Spotify without it for a day, I'm **bleep** off beyond words to be honest. So, so many things just got a whole lot more difficult.

I am so disappointed that y'all have "decided" to remove this feature. Maybe I missed something somewhere, but I thought paying customers should have a say. A notification or SOMETHING that would give a heads up that this is going away instead of your customers thinking something is wrong with their phone when they are looking for the widget. Seriously, Spotify, it's probably going to be tedious looking through all of these negative comments and threats of leaving, but you should take them to heart. It's not a "fix", it's certainly not "user-friendly", and quite frankly, I'm more than a little bit disappointed at the change and the way y'all seem to have handled it.

Why did Spotify remove something that was working fine and many users were using? It is like closing a fast road because there are two more slower... Who the **bleep** had this "brilliant" idea?

I too also am voicing support to bring back the widget.  Been a Spotify customer since the US launch.  The widget really helps especially when accessing my music on the fly on the move.

There's no experience like Spotify so why remove a feature without advance notification?

If theres no plans to reintroduce this functionality im just going to cancel my subscription and use deezer instead.
