[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

Yeah but why? Why would you remove a feature that makes your product easier to use? Is the company being run by brain dead monkeys?

Looking at other services, so many competitors have more features, most incude widgets, most offer discounts to new subscribers too...

I gotta ask you spotify, hows that stock price doing? Was the widget costing more than the BILLIONS of dallars in market cap. you lost? I think its time the board of directors stepped in and righted this ship.

Just got the new Samsung Note 10+, and I'm SO glad it comes with an old version of spotify that still has the widget!!! I've disabled auto update!!

I canceled my family plan. I moved to YouTube Premium. So much better, and you have YT Music and Google Music. Google music has a widgrt, and I heard that YT Music will eventually have one too. Good-Bye Spotify! 😉

Well I canceled my 6 years of spotify. 

 

 You guys don't care about your customers so your customers don't care about you.

 

 Hope you still have a job in a year from now, but I doubt it.

Sad to see that this wasn't worth the development time.  Amazon music still has their widget and maybe should be considered a replacement tell there is time to development teams to maintain it. 

 

Or turn it into an open-source project and let the community help keep it up to date.
