[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

Thanks for posting this information. Out of the 24,578 songs I had only 200 that were not able to be transferred — no problem for me, in any case.

I want my Android widget back! Please!!! If somebody doesn't want it they can uninstall it but let those of who actually use it, have it!!!! Please bring it back!!!! Or can I uninstall that update so I can have it back?

To go back to latest widget version, uninstall Spotify and install that version : shorturl.at/acoD8

I will certainly quit Spotify, but not only because of the widget removal (there's possible alternative), but for the lack of communication and respect toward customers. 

Good people recognize their mistakes and do not insist !

Horrible idea to remove the widget, this was one of the best features and now the app more difficult/inconvenient to use. PLEASE bring it back ASAP, or I will most likely cancel my paying membership.

130 pages later Spotify, every one seems consistent. Bring back the widget or lose a ton of users. No more money making. You have less than a month for me to fix it

It has been a couple weeks since the status update but for some reason it's still set to "not right now". Maybe you haven't noticed the large amount of negative feedback.

 

Get your s**t together. Get it all together. And put it in a backpack. All your s**t. So it’s together. And if you gotta take it somewhere, take it somewhere, you know, take it to the s**t store and sell it… Or put it in a s**t museum, I don’t care what you do, you just gotta get it together.
