[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

I have switched to Deezer : clean GUI, lyrics, catalogue as rich as Spotifail's if not more, and A WIDGET !!

 

Their current welcome offer is amazing : 0.99€ for 3 months Premium! Perfect for a smooth transition : I have created accounts for my whole family and will drop Spotifail in a few days, the time for us to transfer our playlists.

The widget is a big reason I choose spotify over competitors. Please bring the widget back.

When the Notre Dame was burning I didn't post my pictures of it or send prayers, I just kept scrolling. When my dentist said I need to get my wisdom teeth removed I just nodded but never actually went because I'm that lazy. However, sometimes something comes along that annoys you so much that you have to take action. Even if that action is as useless as adding your comment to a sea of voices that already agree that removing that widget was a terrible idea. Will the people triumph in their humble appeal for the meager scraps of a widget? Doubtful.  Heck there are a lot of parallels that could be brought up to the American voting system but lets not get ahead of ourselves here. You say you're the people's company then by God listen to the people's cries. Or listen to their silence if, heaven forbid, we all go to Apple music. P.S. also add the swipe to que function for Android that's really rude of y'all.

May be Spotify programmers not use Spotify. Why I go to Spotify from GOOGLE Music? There are not benefits when you do this things.

Your decision sucks!  The home page widget was how I accessed Spotify.  Why did you take away something that was so useful?  Please please change your decision from 'not right now' to 'this will be fixed immediately as a priority'.

This idea is saying 'having a home widget would be nice', we had one, SPOTIFY TOOK IT AWAY FOR NO GOOD REASON.  Bring it back or reduce my monthly fee as this is now inefficient.  I was seriously considering upgrading to the family package but will not unless this is fixed.

This is the dumbest UX decision I've ever seen in such a mature app. I'm not fumbling through all mi notifications to control my music. The "not right now" answer is a slap in the face to your paying customers. If this isn't fixed in the next month I'm cancelling my subscription and going with Google music as it's clear you don't give a rat's **bleep** about what your customers think. Not even an explanation! Pathetic.
