[Android] Rearrange Tracks inside a Playlist

On my iPod I can manually move my songs around that are in my playlist, but I can't do the same on my phone which is what I mostly use. It would be easier to have that option on all devices.

Hey!

The Spotify Community team here.

We're pleased to confirm that this feature should now be available to all Android users.
We'd recommend double-checking that you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Once again, thanks for showing your support here in the Community.

Lyrics?  Does Apply Music display lyrics?

To be honest, I've only tried one competitor.  It was Amazon Music.  I loved that I could arrange my playlists, and I also loved that when I added my own music they didn't scan it and update the files tags on me.

BUT.  the offline music option for Amazon Music was insane.  It does download the songs for offline play, but it doesn't stay updated to playlist changes... and to "un-download" it (for intance, you want the songs in your library but need to free up space, so you no longer need it offline) you have to completely remove the songs from your library.  That was more upsetting to me than Spotify's issue with re-arranging playlists.

I'll give Apple Music a try.

The lack of this basic functionality is one of my biggest problems with Spotify. Been waiting years now..

Well, do something about it, tweet @SpotifyCares 🙂 Maybe your English is
clearer than mine to make them understand such terrible lack of
functionality in the Android App.

Tweeted a few times. Left reviews on G Play store, comments here.. crickets.

Got a response from Spanish tweeter support: "don't worry, our developers
check the community forums to improve our app, we'll pass you request to
our team" and later "we'll announce any change on this" 🙂

@grbsoft ¡Hola Gustavo! Nuestros desarrolladores revisan la Comunidad a
menudo para mejorar la app. Pasaremos tus sugerencias al equipo

@grbsoft No te preocupes. Ya hemos pasado tus comentarios al equipo
encargado. Anunciaremos cualquier cambio al respecto /RP

Spotify needs to do one of two things:
#1: Remove the option for "custom" sorting to stop confusing their users

No, bad idea! Even though you can't set the order of a playlist on the Android app, playlists still have an innate custom order which can be set on any other platform, e.g. the iOS or desktop apps. Removing the custom order option would prevent you being able to listen to playlists in the intended order. It's better to have this option than not.

But yeah, if Spotify had a competent Android product manager they would also have implemented the ability to edit this order on Android years ago.

Yeah, it is not like we are the owners of a niche device: Android is 88% of
the smartphone market!!!

How can they afford to **bleep** off such a massive majority???

Hi! As I've said I just uploaded a video on Youtube that tries to explain (in my horrible english) what's wrong with the Android app not being able to rearrange tracks on a playlist.

Please feel free to share, comment and like as much as you want, perhaps this is the only way to get Spotify make something about it. Thanks!

Really surprised this hasn't been done in 2.5 YEARS.  I expected better from Spotify.  Such a simple and yet essential feature.  C'mon guys.
