[Android] Rearrange Tracks inside a Playlist

On my iPod I can manually move my songs around that are in my playlist, but I can't do the same on my phone which is what I mostly use. It would be easier to have that option on all devices.

Hey!

The Spotify Community team here.

We're pleased to confirm that this feature should now be available to all Android users.
We'd recommend double-checking that you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Once again, thanks for showing your support here in the Community.

Can someone who has tried google music let us know your experience?

 - Does it have this feature

 - Does it have the annoying "connect" that you can't disable if you don't want it.

 - Is the list of available songs equivalent to what Spotify has, and can you create playlists, download them onto a device and listen to them offline?

 - Does it have a good way to search for newly released music, in a way that will return you a full list, not just their choices, and ideally allow you metadata on which to filter?

 - Do they even have a proper feedback forum?

My experience with Deezer when I did try it out was a very poor one. In particular, I made a playlist of 5 songs to listen to that were part of a poll where I had to pick the best one. Deezer decided that simply playing the playlist in the order I had put in was too much and wanted to play things based on it, or not play them in order. I didn't mind ads for a free trial, but refusing to play what I had asked is not why I use an on-demand streaming service.

When I went to find the Deezer feedback forum to comment on this, I couldn't find anything in existence.

My experiences with google are not that great either. I would have explored google music a lot earlier if they hadn't started off as US-only. And the fact they price like Spotify with the UK paying in sterling what Americans pay in dollars (which is still 25% more in spite of the plunge in Sterling) isn't a selling factor for me.

@EarlPurple

1) Yes, rearranging tracks in playlists in Google Music (incl. Android) is really nice and easy - exactly the way it should be.

2) It shows a discreet cast icon in the title bar, the standard Chromecast interface for apps, less obtrusive than Spotify's proprietary UI

3) Pretty much, yes and yes and yes.

4) Hmmmmm maybe, and not, not really

5) Hahahaha - no, this is Google we're talking about!

Personally I just can't use Google Music, though. It's really too simple an offering. It's fine if you always know what you want to listen to and are happy to search for it either in your own library of uploaded music or the entire streaming catalogue, but it's sorely lacking in features for organising what you already know you like, such as being able to create nested playlists (or folders of playlists), and even things like the fact that list views of playlists and artists are in columns of tiles rather than simple lists, which makes them much harder to scan a large number of items. Spotify *infuriates* me by not implementing this feature for Android, but overall they are still easily the best offering overall.

Google Music has been fully available in the UK for several years now, by the way.

Hi all, kinda lost my patience with the support service. I posted a blog to serve the purpose which can be found at my website (username+dotcom).

If you have the ability, please share it if you agree with the sentiments within. Let's start a fire.

Seriously!  When are you guys going to fix it?  I love using Spotify, but good grief, I don't like not being able to motify my play lists fast on my phone.

2 years ago i stopped using spotify because i got so annoyed of this, and now I'm back and it still doesn't work.

They really don't care, do they?
