[Android] Rearrange Tracks inside a Playlist

On my iPod I can manually move my songs around that are in my playlist, but I can't do the same on my phone which is what I mostly use. It would be easier to have that option on all devices.

Hey!

The Spotify Community team here.

We're pleased to confirm that this feature should now be available to all Android users.
We'd recommend double-checking that you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Once again, thanks for showing your support here in the Community.

The price for one month should be almost the same I suppose.

Well. Why not test?

I think it is about respect for the costumers. I pay for me and my family and this is an issue for me. I give them one year for new functions. No more. I don't talk about rearrange some graphics.  Now you say it passed 3 years?

It would be appreciated if they told the reason why they haven't done the necessary updates. That is showing me and others respect.

I think we should bombard their Twitter page and here until they actually provide us with a reason as to why they are not giving the rearrange tracks options in Android or they actually implement the feature.

Im not sure , seeing as I have a Google Pixel it does seem like my phone
will be tailored to run it well. And as for the player , it's highly likely
that you are able to re arrange songs seeing as it is such a basic feature.
I'll give the free trial a go and will consider switching. But I do like
the radio ,Spotify playlists, suggested playlists etc that are on Spotify,
hopefully Google music will have this too.

I've been thinking the exact same thing. Why should we pay for a service
which treats its users unfairly , when we can pay the same amount for a
better service . Im going to be switching back to Google music .

@user-removedThe Google Play Music Android app has a very nice implementation of a playlist view that lets you drag tracks to reorder. You don't even have to enter a special edit mode beforehand like you do with Spotify for iOS. It doens't make a difference which phone you have.

That said, I don't like the other features of GPM at all; it's a very basic service and not at all good for managing any more than a small number of playlists. It's very much aimed at the user working from memory when deciding what to listen to (or letting GPM pick for them). Personally I like to make lots of playlists (including lists of other playlists and lists of albums) to help me keep track of what I've currently got on rotation, what I've heard about and want to check out, and just generally help me not lose track of and forget music I like, and to find the kind of music from my library that I feel like listening to at any given time. GPM is terrible for this, and Spotify still easily the best, despite the Android app's shortcomings.

This has been going on for years! Really Spotify? Can't manage to add this as a feature for Android.  Sorry, I'm out!  Really becomes clear how much Spotify has not bothered to change. Want new subscribers. Keep your existing ones...There's a thought.

Hi Guys,

I still think being able to re-arrange the sort order within my playlist is a basic feature and absolute 'must have'. For example, when hiking or traveling abroad. Me and my pals have stopped being "premium" users more then once, because this feature is still not implemented on Android. We wont carry our notebooks when hiking, just to change our playlists. As we like Spotify in general, it would be great to have this feature sometime soon. We are now waiting since 2015. If you like to continue to loose revenue and market share, just continue to ignore this. Deezer, etc have this implemented.

Cheers, Frank
