[Android] Rearrange Tracks inside a Playlist

On my iPod I can manually move my songs around that are in my playlist, but I can't do the same on my phone which is what I mostly use. It would be easier to have that option on all devices.

Hey!

The Spotify Community team here.

We're pleased to confirm that this feature should now be available to all Android users.
We'd recommend double-checking that you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Once again, thanks for showing your support here in the Community.

Android is not the reason, Spotify is the reason because they refuse to implement such a basic functionality in the Android App... Read a few pages here so you can easily understand what's going on.

Totally agree. This is all on Spotify! Definitely not an Android thing when other music apps have this basic functionality! The irony of this is that the Spotify app for Android does allow the user to rearrange songs in a play queue.. Drag and drop. That's all Spotify would have to do for play lists!

A kind soul here recommended the app Deezer as an alternative.  And its true.  43 million songs, you can easily rearrange playlists, and the sound quality and VOLUME are better also. I've always had trouble with low volume on spotify for android as well.

I like the interface of spotify and I've come to rely on their suggestions, etc.  But its frustrating to be treated so badly when I pay for premium.  So I'm going to test Deezer for a month free and will very likely switch. Apparently that's the only way spotify might listen.

Sent this to Android Authority. Hope they pick up the story!

For over four years, Android users have been asking Spotify to add a basic feature to their Android application: rearrange songs on a play list. That's four years! Many Android music apps have this simple feature. The Spotify app for iPhone has this basic feature.

It would be great if the Android Authority would write a story about how the music giant will not acknowledge their paying Android customers. Here is the link to the Spotify forum. Folks are pretty peeved as you will see.

I'm doing the free trial for Deezer also right now as an alternative.
Although, I find the sound quality to be not as good. What it's going to
come down to is deciding whether or not I want to re-create over 50
playlists that have at a minimum of 30 songs each for what I believe to be
inferior sound quality.

I also don't like that they don't have mood and genre playlists of their
own. They do have something called Flow which plays music based on your
suggestions, but I find it lacking in the sense it only plays popular songs
that I already know and so it's not suggesting anything new for me to hear.

The interface on Deezer is really good, close to Spotify's, and of course,
you are able to move tracks. So I'm still on the fence. But I would
suggest anyone reading this to try it out because I also got the suggestion
from this thread and I had never heard of the service before.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've come to the conclusion that this complaint that
we have is, in fact, a simple one to fix and I can not understand why it's
not being addressed. So if the suggestion to move to another music app may
help the cause, then so be it.

I don't want music based on my suggestions I want a streaming service to play the playlist I have put in it in the order I have put them on the playlist.

That was where my "trial" with Deezer ended. I had a playlist of 5 songs to rate for a poll and Deezer refused to simply play it.

Huh? This is unbelievable. What am I paying for? Such a basic, elemental feature of a music service and you have "no plans" to add it? What do you do all day?

Speed3210

Really a basic feature thats needed so much. I doubt it would take long to put it in an update... so come on, please.

Sometimes I suspect that this "Android Team" does not actually exist..
