[Android] Swipe to Queue a Track

Firstly let me say I have been using Spotify since it launched here in the US and have seen a lot of great improvements over the years. Great job!

I am a music listener who likes to let the current track play out before starting a new one.
I love what you have done on the iOS side with swipe to queue.

Can you show Android some love and put this story in your backlog? 🙂

Thanks for listening!

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

We're happy to announce that this feature is now rolling out on Android devices. If you don't see it yet, don't worry as it will be available for you soon. Just make sure to keep your app up to date.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community.

Please add the swipe to queue function present in the iOS app to the Android OS app. Or, at the very least, give the community the honest reason as to why it hasn't been added yet, instead of saying it is being discussed internally.

Even if only for Spotify Premium users (if there's some financial reason as to why this hasn't been implemented yet). I'm fairly certain that adding this feature would drastically improve the experience of using the app on Android. And would help save several seconds, that during the day build up into minutes. And over time, only keeps compounding. Wasting your customers’ time.

I feel like this is one of the most important, if not the most important feature that is yet to be implemented on Android. And I believe the Android user portion of the community would agree completely. I'm also well aware that this issue has been brought up several times in the past. Dismissed with no excuse, the original idea had 7,902 votes (it’s still among the Top 10 ideas with most votes in the entire community site: Swipe to Queue a Track; Live Ideas; Closed Ideas), and was still closed with a vague statement as the only response. So, as nothing has been done so far, I am writing this to maybe remind management of this issue.

Also to plead for some sympathy for all the Android users worldwide. Who represent the overwhelming majority of Spotify users. Hence, Android users are literally the ones that keep Spotify’s shareholders happy. Not Apple, and its higher standing in only the North America market.

Additionally, many of these Android users all around the world are already affected by many, more severe problems. I feel like they are also deserving of this minor convenience to be present in their music app. Instead of the inconvenience that is having to pull up the sub-menu every time when queuing a song.

Spotify has to be paid by Apple to not implement this feature. Literally one of the most requested features of ALL TIME, it actually exists in a different form (Swipe to pin playlists), and they haven't said any valid reason for not implementing it. Media should bring this up

peakhead

@morrock now that actually makes sense. There's no good reason why they wouldn't implement the feature or give a valid reason why they can't/won't 🤔

We have to write more Comments, that thousands of people cant be ignored anymore by the spotify staff. This is propably the most voted topic and they dont care.

raymoporzig

Yes we wont give up. If we have to create tousands of topics, we will try as long as they wont implement it.

bubu9

please implement or I'm going to switch to Apple music

crowlem

Absolutely embarrassing that this is still not implemented

Lucianod28

Over 6 years and 31 pages of people saying they want this and still no implementation, what's going on? I switched to android recently and looks like I may need a new music app...

double0Z

2190 days later, still waiting. Just letting everyone else know, Apple Music lets you swipe to queue and add songs to library

Starrxs

Please make this feature in your radar.

It is not understandable to have a better iOS app than an Android one. We pay the same monthly subscription so we deserve it
