Clear play queue

I have to restart my spotify when I accendently start a song from a search instead of adding it to the queue (happens often to me), would be lovely if there would be a clear button for all the songs added to the queue by spotify it self.

We're happy to announce that we have implemented the Clear queue feature on our mobile app as well.

Just open the queue and you should see the Clear all button at the top

Hey folks, you can now find a 'CLEAR' button on the Play Queue in your Spotify Desktop app.

If using Spotify on your mobile device you can check the songs in 'Up Next' and then select 'REMOVE'.

Thanks for your feedback everyone!

this seriously needs to be addressed. This is a major hassle for how i listen to music and is almost a deal breaker!

Just went through this for the first time tonight.

Even when I played through all the tracks (by skipping through the playlist Spotify loaded into my queue), it just recycled the entire list. Super annoying. Been using Spotify since 2011 and I absolutely cannot believe this hasn't been taken care of yet.

Not a priority right now?  You had to have made it a priority in order to change the programming to keep the queue from ever getting completely cleared.  I have contacted you already about this, and if nothing changes within the next week or so, I am cancelling my subscription.

I'm baffled that this doesn't exist. This absolutely should be a "basic feature." And the suggestion of playing another album doesn't seem to work, at least in the Android app - it often just plays one song and then goes back to what else is already in the queue.

I really want to like Spotify, because the sound quality is great. But I can't see myself paying $10 a month for this. I don't even know if I'll make it beyond the first day of my trial period.

How can you say that this is not an essential feature of a music player?  EVERY player I've ever had on my computer had this feature.  Spotify's music player is the first that did NOT have it.  It is very fustrating, especially if you "QUEUE" a song from a search.  Why must it play EVERY song when we only want to play the one song we selected?  Then add to it that we can't clear the playlist because you don't deem it a necessity and you have very fusturated users.  It appears I am not alone either.

Please consider that the following 2 fixes are necessities for your PAYING customers' listening pleasure:

1) Clear Playlist button,

2) Only have the song we select from a search play, instead of the whole frickin' list of songs the search returned.  If we wanted to list to all those songs, we would've selected them.

This is really annoying!

In the first post of the thread  TomR  says "At the moment, the whole team is trying and improving basic features for a better Spotify experience."

BUT, according to most of the people posting in this thread, this is a BASIC feature, and the lag of it does not make the Spotify experience better!

Also, this thread is nearly two years old - wtf - developers please - how hard can it be to implement this "feature". The only thing I can imagine is that your code base such a mess and therefor you cant simply implement this function.

So how long is the "Future" I mean come on guys, it's been nearly 2 years now and there are still people complaining about it. Don't you care what you customers think? I mean this is an issues with so many people complaining about it.

This is pathetic! Just paid for the premium service to see if that had the clear cue function... Guess what... NOPE! 10 pages of compaints over 2 years! This is sad and I will not be renewing my subscription!

Pandora doesnt do this for anyone that is looking for a better option. www.pandora.com

Get your **bleep** together Spotify!!!!

Very unhappy customer...

Spotify, the reason you give in your answer is completely bogus. We all undestand that at the moment you focus on core experience rather than accessory features, but THIS is core experience. You won't have a perfect experience until this glaring annoyance is dealt with. And it isn't like we're asking for a complete redesign. This shouldn't take more than 30 minutes of coding and at worst one day of testing and getting it right. The fact that you're refusing to do so can't simply be understood unless you take pride in alienating your user base.

Thanks indeed Richard. Everyone at spotify should reflect on the fact that we cling to such an absurd and convoluted workaround because you are too stubborn to add a tiny feature everyone wants.

It makes more sense if you're a free user as having a queue of songs means more adverts that play, but for premium users it makes zero sense to not have such a basic feature. It's something many programmers could code with a blindfold on. It's a goddamn conspiracy is what it is.
