Clear play queue

I have to restart my spotify when I accendently start a song from a search instead of adding it to the queue (happens often to me), would be lovely if there would be a clear button for all the songs added to the queue by spotify it self.

We're happy to announce that we have implemented the Clear queue feature on our mobile app as well.

Just open the queue and you should see the Clear all button at the top

Hey folks, you can now find a 'CLEAR' button on the Play Queue in your Spotify Desktop app.

If using Spotify on your mobile device you can check the songs in 'Up Next' and then select 'REMOVE'.

Thanks for your feedback everyone!

16 pages full of reviews by users, spanning over 2 years, saying how important it is to have a simple "clear queue" button. And still such a simple feature is missing.

Guys, I accidentally pressed "add to queue" a couple of times on an album containing 20 songs. The only way for clearing the queue was to press "next - next - next" maybe 100 times. Do you guys think this is something sane or an expected software use case? I don't. And since this is not the first time it happens to me, I'm really ready to completely switch to Deezer if I don't see such a simple feature implemented soon (btw, I've been a Spotify premium user for years). Shame on you guys.

Yes, seriously, this is SUCH a basic feature. The lack of it kept me from Spotify for many years and may yet provoke me to unsubscribe, just because it is so effing annoying to finish playing something I queued, only to have whatever it was I was listening to the last time the queue got stuck start back up.

What I done, was place in local file a 3 sec of absolute silence, and make a Playlist of silence, and when I want to clear the QUEUE, just play this playlist.   I think Spotify have to improve a second button action with, CLEAR QUEUE or something like that.

@tmzyph Brilliant solution! Thanks for posting it.

Astonishing that you can't simply clear the queue without having to resort to workarounds.  This (and the almost-impossible-to-see scrollbar sliders) will be the thing that makes me cancel my subscription.

Fix a delete button in the play queue window, how hard can it bee??

kind regards, Mats

The "solution" provided by *^&%^&* "TomR" doesn't work.  It only adds one track to the queue I want to delete.  As soon as that track is done playing, Spotify goes back to that queue.

I'm really surprised that Spotify says this is a "Not Right Now" enhancement.  There are tons of (to me) useless features they've added since this thread was started two years ago.  What is wrong with their prioritization process?

I was having the same issue, where it would only add one track. I have to resort to clearing the application data and setting up everything from scratch again.

Richard's workaround no longer works as of a recent update. You have to create a local 1-second MP3 and put it in your dummy playlist, otherwise Spotify will refuse to open the playlist. Yes, I know that it's freaking ridiculous.

Can't believe this option does not exist. It's so frustrating! I switched to spotify from deezer but ms seriously considering switching back. The fact that there are 16 pages on this and it's not classed as an issue by Spotify makes you wonder if they a listening at all! This and  another issue with my in car bluetooth means I'll be heading back to Deezer I think. :0(
