Discount Family Subscriptions!

Before I made the switch from Rdio to Spotify they (Rdio) came up with a pricing model that allowed families to purchase a slightly discounted subscription.

$9.99 for single unlimited user

$17.99 for 2 family members (20% discount)

$22.99 for 3 family members (50% discount)

Would love to see a similar pricing model so the rest of the family could get in on the action!

Hey folks! We've introduced Spotify Family. With Premium for Family, you and up to 5 members of the same household can each enjoy their own Premium account. All for one discounted price of $14.99.

Thanks for your kudos in the Community--we want your feedback.

Let's put in this way... I am considering to go from 1 free to a premium account, only in case family plan is available (two people in my case) and stopping buying music anywhere else as a consequence... (so consider also the "mors tua vita mea" effect).

But as I wrote, if and only if there will be a family plan. Less is more... I am taking my final decision, time is running spotify 🙂

How long will this be under consideration? The original post is date Feb 2012, coming up to a year now and still no progress. I had a look at Rdio as suggested by another responder but family subscriptions are only availabe in US and Canada, so no good. Plus I much prefer Spotify.

Come on Spotify - you can do it!! 🙂

almost a year and no kind of target on when this is gonna happen... I think its time to jump ship after being a user for almost a year... Rdio is looking better and better...

PLEASE SPOTIFY DONT IGNOR US!

lets go spotify I am not upgrading until I see family subs. I know im not the only one. You are missing out on revenue. You could be making more money. I know that'll get their attention. please.

My wife is investigating rdio right at this very moment because of this.  We keep stepping on each other and as we use Roku and Boxee (among macs, and ios devices) and have kids that we both want the play lists for Spotify isn't really working out well at the moment.

My recommendation is just to have something like a +1 feature for another $2-$3 a month.  Just off the top I'm guessing that'd probably cover the licensing.

Also, pretty heartbroken that you guys don't have Pink Floyd's library.  I know it's not you but keeps me going back to pandora now and again.

Would LOVE this feature. Go on Spotify...you know you want to!!

Well clearly Spotify you are NOT hearing us loud and clear - it's been almost a year since you said you were and you've done absolutely nothing about bringing this feature to the platform??!!

Just like forcing new users to authenticate with Facebook (I don't use Facebook and don't want to) - you simply don't listen to your customers and ride roug-shod over them. I'm getting fed up of your arrogant attitude - listen to your customers!

Bummed this still isn't implemented.. nearly a year since it's been anounced.  All I want to do is stop purchasing music so My wife and I can both be spotify subscribers, but for 20$/month we aren't going to do that.
