Discount Family Subscriptions!

Before I made the switch from Rdio to Spotify they (Rdio) came up with a pricing model that allowed families to purchase a slightly discounted subscription.  

$9.99 for single unlimited user

$17.99 for 2 family members (20% discount)

$22.99 for 3 family members (50% discount)

Would love to see a similar pricing model so the rest of the family could get in on the action!

Add my vote (and money) for family accounts!!  I've got 5 kids and right now I'm the only Spotify member, but a few of the kids would love to have access too.  But getting them each their own premium account is not feasible.  

As other readers have noted, I can buy lots of MP3's for $20-$30/month, and I may have to switch to MP3's or whichever service is first to offer a good family plan to keep everybody happy.  

So come on, Spotify!  No, you're never, ever going to get $50/month from me for my whole family, so stop trying or you'll likely wind up losing what money I'm paying!

I still uses the free Spotify but as I now are able to listen to Spotify at work I have thoughts of spend some money on it and become a premium user but as my teenagers also want Spotify it would be to expensive..
If there will be a solution for a family account I would be glad and sign up and pay for it.

Major +1 for this idea - I own a Premium account and my Partner the standard one - it would be great if we coulde actually have either a joined account, or a discount if we both went premium.

Spotify you need to make this Family Plan work very soon. Just copy Netflix.  They have this structured perfectly.  thanks, love the premium service otherwise!!!

Still no news on the family plan despite many tech blogs saying one was coming as long ago as summer 2012?

We really could do with it now Spotify. I'm working late in the office and can't listen to my playlists because my wife is at home listening to our playlists through the TV! I don't want lots of logins to listen to music through our TV because, quite frankly, typing user names and passwords in the tv is a pain in the a**.

This is a good idea considering the increase usage of streaming.  I would use this option providing it was affordable.  Even cell phone companies are moving to shared data plans among devices.  I would like to see the option for 1-4 accounts under the same plan.

It's been over a year since this feature has been requested. Rdio has had this feature for a long time; seriously considering switching. It can't be that hard to pitch to your license contracts, since rdio already does it.

Please add family plans. My two sons are at an "exploring music" phase, and I'd love to get them up and running.
