Discount Family Subscriptions!

Before I made the switch from Rdio to Spotify they (Rdio) came up with a pricing model that allowed families to purchase a slightly discounted subscription.

$9.99 for single unlimited user

$17.99 for 2 family members (20% discount)

$22.99 for 3 family members (50% discount)

Would love to see a similar pricing model so the rest of the family could get in on the action!

Hey folks! We've introduced Spotify Family. With Premium for Family, you and up to 5 members of the same household can each enjoy their own Premium account. All for one discounted price of $14.99.

Thanks for your kudos in the Community--we want your feedback.

We're a family of 4 and often "step on each others toes" when using Spotify, so this would be a really really useful feature. I'm a bit puzzled there's been no news about an ETA. Especially considering it's been 1½ year since this article: http://www.techradar.com/news/internet/spotify-to-introduce-family-plans-1070812

I would love to have this option. My son and I fight over my Spotify account constantly. We would like to share the same account, so we can use the same playlists, but it would be nice to use it on two devices at the same time. I don't mind paying extra for this.

I doubt anyone from spotify reads this, but I give up... Spotify sort this feature out. I have been paying for nearly two years waiting for this feature that was promised. If there is no progress by Christmas you will have lost yourselves a premium subscriber. why is it so hard? I don't get it. I don't mind paying more but I am **bleep**ed if I am paying for two. If discounting is so hard why not charge for shared hours? Just sort it out and fast. A very grumpy spotify user. Stop disrespecting your user base.

I'm counting the days until something like this becomes a reality for Spotify.  Netflix has already implemented Profiles and Rdio has already implemented family plans.  My wife is a teacher and uses Spotify to gather create playlists for her classes, and I just like listening to music while I work.  Our computers pretty much need to remain connected to the Internet for work purposes, but I'll inadvertently disrupt a lesson of hers simply by pressing the Play button on my end (and she'll inadvertently cut off my music stream too).

Any update on this? It's been over a year and no movement.

C'mon guys. This is taking too long. My daughter and son love listening to Spotify on their phones/iPod's. They hate it when the other is also listening. They are now telling friends that Spotify is no good as it doesn't allow two people to listen to music in the same way that both can watch a film on Netflix.

I also use Spotify on my phone and iPad. That would make £30 per month for us each to have a Premium Account.

There must be a way to subscribe to allow a Main account user and sub account users at a reduced price. I would pay £20 per month for this.

I am a superenthusiastic user of Spotify Premium since a year. Works great, easy to use and (almost) all my favorite music. Ofcourse my husband and son want to use it as well but it is just not possible to spend 30 euros a month on music. Please do come up with a family solution so the rest will stick with Spotify and not go somewhere else soon. Spotify is too good to loose.

I like spotify and a considering going for premium, but i just looked into this and was hoping i could share my account with my wife, for some additional cost. But now i see it's twice the costs for her to also listen concurrent to other music. I'll first look into "Rdio" since they offer discounted accounts...

I also would like to point out the this topic seems to be open for over almost 2 years!! How hard is it to think of some better construction then the current one? come on...

I echo other people's comments. A family plan isn't just nice to have...it's mandatory in this competitive marketplace. One look through these forums shows that Spotify is very slow to adapt or address user ideas (which is odd for a company based on technology). Response time and engagment with customers needs to improve. There is too much compeition out there now to ignore this kind fo thing or drag things out literally for years.

Why is it taking so long to implement?
