Discount Family Subscriptions!

Before I made the switch from Rdio to Spotify they (Rdio) came up with a pricing model that allowed families to purchase a slightly discounted subscription.

$9.99 for single unlimited user

$17.99 for 2 family members (20% discount)

$22.99 for 3 family members (50% discount)

Would love to see a similar pricing model so the rest of the family could get in on the action!

Hey folks! We've introduced Spotify Family. With Premium for Family, you and up to 5 members of the same household can each enjoy their own Premium account. All for one discounted price of $14.99.

Thanks for your kudos in the Community--we want your feedback.

+1 for the Family Subscription!

If I buy 3 cd's for € 30,00 I can have one in my car, one in my wife's car and one at home and we can all enjoy music forever! If we pay € 119,88 a year for Spotify we can play music on one location on one device. That's what I call a cloud advantage!

Please add the Family subscription based on account and only block playing the same music at the same time on multiple devices!

Thanks!

A newbie without the willingness to go Premium

This thread has been open for way too long! Come on Spotify, create your own "framily" plans for us Non-Spint Customers!!! I love your service, now let me and my wife listen to it at the same time! 🙂

Please can you give us a rough idea of when this may be ready? I am seriously considering jumping ship.

I agree with all the above. Beats offer a family plan and they are the new comers. $14.99 plus I don't have sprint nor am I a student in college. I the hard working 30+ that can't get a saving on anything in the world. Family plan would be great so I don't spend $40 a month on my people.

If there were a family plan, we would definitely "upgrade" and pay more for Spotify.  I have three kids and only pay for Premium for the one who likes music "the most", so my other two kids and I still use the advertiser version.   It would be worth $25-30 a month to me for all of us to have premium, but not more than that.  So, if your company is making more money from advertising, I see your point in not having a family plan, but if you are trying to expand your subscriber base, then you would definitely win more of them with a family plan.   The Sprint thing is a good deal, but we are an AT&T family.

I would also pay more for a family plan.

If Spotify doesnt come out with a decently priced family plan I will be jumping ship as well.

You either adapt or go loose customers, you have people willing to pay an extra 5 bucks a month, for a priately held company you think a extra 5 bucks would be worth it.

Hi There,

I have been a premium member for more than 2 years now and I am sharing the account with my husband.

We are sharing our suggestions to playlists and we make discover to each other musics. It makes me crazy when I want to connect to Spotify and I can't because my husband is using it...

Please consider to create a family pass that will allow different member of a family or community to use playslist at the same time.

Come on!  you have more than 300 comments of people who would definitely pay for this option and more who have not put their opinion on this forum.

Imagine a potential of at least 3% of your 10 millions users who pay  for this service, who could convert for this family access at 6.99€/month. The incremental revenue could be more than 2M€/month.

Figues talk by themselves in term of benfits, plus you re-brand your spotify product for families and millions of happy users 🙂

Yes please, introduce a Family Plan. 90% of users cannot afford 3-4 Premium accounts and so they will stick with only one (so Spotify get less money) or they will renounce to the Premium to avoid family nightmares...

Just wanted to add my vote for this idea - would love something like Netflix where two family users can stream at once.
