[Discover] Please add a "Not Interested" Button

As the title suggests, it would be useful if Spotify had a "not interested" button like YouTube does for videos. I have been using Spotify for many years and still receive a lot of recommendations for playlists and podcasts that I am simply not interested in. One such example is "Learn Korean and Korean Culture" by jerry. I have no interest in learning Korean whatsoever, so it would be useful for me to remove recommendations such as these.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all the support and feedback you've given to this idea!

We have some exciting news to share with you: in the mobile app, it's now possible to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of your Home screen by tapping Not interested in the context menu of the cards:

The content you mark as "not interested" will instantly be removed from your subfeed and won't show up again. Any other songs/albums/episodes by that artist/podcast show will also be filtered out from future recommendations.

After tapping Not interested, an Undo button will pop up at the bottom of the screen for a short time so you can revert the changes.

Keep in mind that this feature is gradually rolling out, so if you don't see the button in the context menu of the cards, we'd recommend making sure that you're running the latest version of Spotify. If you're having trouble with, or have any other questions about this feature, feel free to reach out in the relevant Help board here.

Thanks again for helping us make Spotify better. We're always striving to provide the best possible user experience and your feedback is always appreciated.

WITH ALL RESPECT...

I don't know if you have to do also some adjustments to your "recomendation algoritthm" recently I noticed that my daily mix recomendation include sh$%tty music that I wouldn't listen to even because I was drunk, there are lots of genres that I don't like, It would be great to be able to discard all that reggaeton/romantic/electronic/mexican **bleep**, not because it is popular/mainstream it means that it is to everyone's taste, I wish your algorithm could learn based on this, it would provide a very good personalized experience.

What the heck! I have never listened to romantic music in my life.

Thanks spotify team, please, make this happen!

What's the mess here on Spotify? Why does it turn out here that the "I don't care" button has 1000 likes when there is a thread that is several years old out of 3822 like a dislike button? !

Here, Spotify nicely shows how he ignores customers and coughs up their desires when an important topic snaps somewhere in its confusing forum. Especially since you started programming a target that only had 2600 likes.

Are you making fun of us customers?

Does Spotify cough at the request of its customers?

Should we write google to remove your application from the google store?

Does it make you turn on the dislike button to work?

My girlfriend once played a short horoscope daily thing and I have never listened to it since, but it keeps coming up in my recommended! Spotify, please stop recommending me this, or at least let me press a not interested button.

Update I received from “Spotify cares” (spoiler: they don’t)

”We're sorry you feel that way, and we understand where you're coming from. We don't have any info on this right now, but we'll let the right team know it's something you'd like to see. If we can help you with anything else, just let us know.”

Spotify literally doesn't care at all and treats the users like some dumb children who must not be given all the powers. When I open the app, I see Joe Rogan EVERY. **bleep**ING. TIME. I don't want to listen to him how tf would you understand. Moreover, the podcast player I use is far superior to anything the Spotify devs can even dream of making. You think you can make me stop using my podcast player and shift to your app (with far less features) just because you**bleep** on me everytime I open your app? **bleep**

Community has been wishing for more control over homepage since the eternity but devs DO NOT CARE. The issue is not just dislike/hide button, its a more general policy of forcing things onto users. I never find new music on Spotify (unless I go look up new playlists). It gives me the same**bleep** I've listened to a gazillion times, on every song's radio. Infact my friend's and my song radios are so different even for the same song! I used Apple Music for one month and got atleast 10 great new songs of my favorite genre because it actually shows new music.

This is why I'd cancelled my subscription last year and was using free Spotify (with ad-ventures blocker 😉). Now I'm planning to subscribe to Apple Music. I loved you, but you didn't care for me. Now I have to move on 🙂

Don't wanna listen to any of these podcasts but can't hide. They are desperate to the point that showing it twice right at the top of homepage. Only freecodecamp podcast is not shown twice but I only listen to ONE FRIGGIN EPISODE 6 months back and it's stuck on my homepage. Stop paying your ui/ux people and algo devs.

i really want to see this. not just for podcasts but for bands/albums. spotify is obsessed with getting me to listen to the dismemberment plan. i never thought they were a bad band, just not a good band, like a 5/10 band. but it seems to be OBSESSED with getting me to listen to them. i turned off autoplay because it would constantly stick their songs on after stuff i actually liked. yet sometimes after some updates, spotify will turn autoplay back on and stick them in the middle of my playlists (no really, i just got off the customer support about this) every time i open the app under recommended, i get the dismemberment plan.
