Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

Spotify, you guys NEED!! to remove the smart shuffle toggle feature, make it optional! There is nothing more annoying than having to wait 10 sec for the app just for it to load in songs I didn't ask to hear in the first place. Annoying- I used to like Spotify, but it gets worse with every update 😕

I just updated to the latest spotify release on android, this "Enable all play modes" switch is still not in the playback settings (yes I'm a premium user and am logged in).

The shuffle feature including smart shuffle should be available for all paid members and not just “Premium” members. There are instances where members can and do change their subscriptions. For example, if a user on a Premium plan changes their subscription to a Student plan, and subsequently losing the shuffle or smart shuffle features seems to take away from the overall music listening experience. Therefore the shuffle/smart shuffle features should be available on all Plans.

Also, the shuffle/smart shuffle features should be included as a setting option where users can enable or disable whether their albums or playlists are automatically shuffled/smart shuffled. It would be even better if the app setting could shuffle/smart shuffle only albums, or playlists, or both.

Having to manually select the shuffle feature for albums and playlists every single time is a real pain — it’s an annoyance that Spotify can help alleviate to help users with a better listening experience. Hoping to see this feature built into settings in a future release.
