Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

Here to add my voice to the mix, having this enhanced Shuffle feature as an extra step when you hit the shuffle button is extremely annoying. Especially if you have a large playlist with over 1000 songs, I have to wait for the enhanced shuffle to add all the new songs to the playlist, then unload them as I never actually want to use this feature. This is so annoying for anyone running a playlist and switching between shuffle and not shuffle. Especially on mobile phones this feature just kills the app. Spotify already has lots of great ways to find new music and the enhanced shuffle button worked fine just the way it was. I think this change was mainly made so that more people would interact with the enhanced button, well they are, and it's leaving a sour taste in everyones mouth. I appreciate the experimentation, and trying new things, sometimes it hits, and other times it doesn't, and for me, this one didn't hit.

This is terrible. I agree with everyone who posted earlier about this stupid function.

I have another issue:

When I'm working on my PC I normally leave my phone somewhere else, so I can work concentrated. However on my Windows PC I can't select the different shuffle mode. So if I wan't to remove the suggestions, I have to grab my phone. Very annoying.

Please fix this Spotify. And even better: get rid of this so called smart shuffle.

I would like to disable smart shuffle and have an easier way to shuffle playlists by default as well.  Can both be done at the same time?

I came to Spotify from Googles old music streaming service when it became YouTube music. YouTube music would fill my playlists with suggestions that I never asked for nor wanted and made it frustratingly difficult to avoid, disable, or ignore.  Spotify had made it comparatively easy to disable the auto recommendation features, though they still sometimes come back it's always an easy fix.

Smart Shuffle is unavoidable. Every time I try to turn off my shuffle mode I have to pause and wait a few seconds for it to finish picking recommendations before I can turn shuffle off of any kind. This is exactly the sort of thing I left another music streaming service over, maybe they were worse but that app was far, far over the limit of my tolerance. Simply put: either I get a way to make Smart Shuffle go away for me, or I find a new streaming service. Who knows? Maybe YouTube Music is a lot better now, that subscription costs the same and it removes ads for me from YouTube.

It should be a separate button. Also there is always a long lag before the smart shuffle initiates and a popup covers the shuffle button so even if there wasn’t a delay you’re unable to quickly switch through shuffle smart shuffle and unstuffle.

Spotify hurry up and remove this "feature" or I'm gone and not coming back. This is a joke. I can't load up my downloaded songs in the car if I have bad service... please tell me how that's a feature.

Not letting me up vote, so I'm commenting to support this feature. Smart Shuffle is ruining Spotify for me. It often freezes when cycling through this mode, and I never want to use it.

I actually liked Enhance, it was great, WHY replace it with this nightmare ?!
