[Mobile] [Other] Smart Shuffle toggle setting in settings menu

Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

I am switching to Apple Music, just because of this useless feature.

YES!

PLEASE!!!

I.

HATE.

IT.

please let us remove this dumb thing, it just makes everything terrible and it gets turned on randomly it seems. Spotify does not recommend much good stuff to me, so 'smart' is an extreme stretch..

Spotify is becoming more of a shitpost with every update. Smart Shuffle must've been the most stupid one ever since the Spotitok.

It's a nuisance in how long it takes to just turn off and on shuffle if this trash is built in making me wait to tap the button. Either make it an on/off option in settings or make it a separate button.

Sometimes it feels like Spotify really wants to drive away their customers

made an account on here just to suggest this if it hadn't been already. how does the largest music streaming service f*ck up the ui this badly? extremely annoying getting locked into shuffle as someone who goes offline fairly often.

This is starting to make listening to Spotify while I'm driving extremely frustrating. I have a lot of anxiety around driving and singing along to my music calms me down. Sometimes I prefer listening to my playlist in order from newest and sometimes I want to shuffle. Not only do I have to pay attention to the app for longer than I would want to because I have to wait for it to cycle through and I can't do it from the Google maps driving mode(which seemingly can't be disabled), but suddenly there's music playing I don't know so it doesn't help me calm down. And then even worse I end up using data from my family's shared plan. I can't even use offline mode because it's currently unavailable for whatever reason. And when I cycle through the shuffle it often make my playlist start from oldest first so now I'm like filled with frustration and upset every time I hear the oldest songs on my list.

I like finding new music. I listen to my discover weekly every week. I listen to recommended playlists often. I enjoyed the enhance feature. But I don't like feeling forced to. I suspect this is some sort of feature to exploit more money from artists by having them pay to be pushed harder on the smart shuffle algorithm. I can't think of any other reason why you would keep forcing this awful feature on us without the option to turn it off.

I'm legitimately thinking about going back to YouTube music despite otherwise loving Spotify

I was thinking it would be nice to simply tap the button to toggle between shuffle and normal play or you could hold the button down for a second and then it would smart shuffle.

I hate this new feature.

At least don't make us wait until the smart shuffle suggestions are loaded to turn it off again. Why can't I tap the spinner to just turn off shuffle. I have never once intentionally used this feature and the fact Spotify insists on coupling so much of it's UI to network events and network performance is pants on head stupid.

You can disable it permanently if you sign out and then sign back in.

I can't believe this worked lol
