Picture on Profile

I would like to suugest the option of adding our own pictures or avitars WITHOUT linking it to our Facebook accounts.

I know there are some of us that were fortunate enough to get Spotify before it linked with Facebook and I would love to add my picture on the account page.

Just registered for the Free Premium trial, first major flaw with Spotify so far is the lack of basic profile building and social networking within Spotify itself.

Inability to add an idependent profile pic is shocking.  It's a bare minimum requirement, especially for a paid music sharing service. My second instinct was to immediately share music with friends and I'm surprised at the lack of functionality here, no live chat function between users? 

You guys have been going for years now, why do you rely so heavily on Facebook? No one gives a crap about Facebook, most people I know hate it, especially the ones who use it. Facebook is losing users by the millions every month to more consice and agile mobile social networks targeted for mobile devices.

I wouldn't want to pay for an online service that lacks such basic intuitive functionality.

I completely agree! Why would FB users receive a special treatment? We also pay. Our account is of my girlfriend and I, so we can't even have a FB profile (or really don't need one apart from our own) so now we're stuck with this bleak gray head...

I say add the feature! 😄

I completely agree. I don't want my Spotify account linked in any way to facebook. I would be happy with even a small profile pic uploaded from our device, or a picture linked to from ANY other site besides fb. Obviously uploading a picture to Spotify would take up their space. So direct-linking to a pic stored on anywhere else on the internet would be great.

I have read through the historical post here and cannot believe that this is still outstanding. 

Spotify - you asked your users to express their desire for this function (add me to this list). 

Thirteen (t h i r t e e n!!!!) pages of wholehearted agreement later as requested, and it's still not possible "yet".

Dare I suggest that those of us who are actually the bedrock of success to your service, i.e. we who jumped on board early, prior to the intergration with Facebook (which I vehemantly dislike), and many of whom pay for the use of, are actually given the reciprocal priority we deserve in terms of listening to - and implementing - wants regarding such an easily rolled-out improvement?

I'd suggest you don't look at this in a percentage-based way against your entire userbase, but against your userbase figures pre-FB link......

I HAVE a Facebook & I still have no interest in linking these accounts. This recent trend in connecting all the social media sites you are a part of drives me up a wall. They are DIFFERENT for a reason, & I have some of the same friends on all of them. Posting something to Instagram that shows up on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc. etc. is just ridiculous, repetetive, & annoying.

Not quite the same thing between Spotify & Facebook, but I hate the idea of everyone knowing what I'm listening to, when I'm listening to it, & that's one of the main reasons I refuse to link my accounts. Sometimes I listen to random & can-be-embarrassing music & don't think I should have to answer stupid questions about it. The whole world doesn't need to know. & it's just ANOTHER thing clogging up mine & my friends already clogged feeds on FB.

In short, I'd like the option to customize my Spotify info. Because I'm on SPOTIFY, using SPOTIFY, not FACEBOOK.

I´m newbe on spotify and I don´t  like being forced to do something that I do not want.

I'm currently using the Free Premium and will cancel prior to being charged. I have FB and refuse to link it to any other account that I use. I can't believe that something as popular as Spotify would stoop to requiring FB in order to add a unique picture to an account.

That's stupid. Mind boggingly stupid.

Whichever manager is forcing this needs to be shown to the door. Maybe FB will hire him/her.

Spotify is one of my favorite services and I'd gladly be a paying member. But I refuse to support FB-only integration. Sorry, but you guys decided that you didn't want me as a customer a long time ago. Probably in some acronym and buzz-word-filled meeting, staffed with people who likely don't even use the service.

I'll take my $10/month some place else.  And that's sad because I love Spotify but I hate FB.

I just wanted a frigging picture.
