[Podcasts] Adjust Audio Speed of Podcasts (1.5x or 2x)

I have just discovered podcasts in the Spotify mobile app and as an avid podast fan I'm delighted to finally see this feature!

I would love to be able to alter the speed of a podcast, to play at 1.5X or 2X the default speed as per the default apple podcast app I currently use.

As many podcasts I listen to are very long (up to 2 hours), until such time as the playback speed can be altered I will use the apple podcast app to listen to podcasts.

This would be huge. I suspect most people simply don't consider it a valid podcast app without this feature. I just recently resubscribed and while I'll be using Spotify for audio, the lack of podcast speed controls will keep me from using that (and will keep me using competing apps, all of which have this feature that's basically podcast app table stakes at this point).

This is one of those "build it and they will come" features. Thanks for considering it!

This option is a must have especially for podcasts. Most people actually have way too much to consume so hence why this option is on every podcast app I've used. Please please bump to a priority list. I'll have to listen to podcasts elsewhere for now but would be great if spotify could do it.

I agree that play-back speed is a fantastic feature for podcasts. People can often form complex ideas into sentences far slower than they can absorb them. I won't use the spotify podcast feature over podcast-addict until this is implemented. It is a key feature for me.

Also I'd like to use this feature for music. There are songs which drag. With this a runner could change the bpm of a song to match their cadence. A tired office worker could make a good song more lively, up-tempo.

Lack of this feature is a total deal breaker and makes listening to podcasts on Spotify extremely unappealing. It gives the impression that addition of podcasts as a content option is more of an attempt to jump on the bandwagon than provide a good user experience. If you're serious about getting people to use your platform to listen to podcasts, addition of variable speed playback is a no brainer.

Just stop advertising for podcasts you are wasting money that should be spent on developing this feature. Adding this feature will be a much better way to get users to switch to Spotify for podcast.

Please do this! I will quit using other apps, variable speed is the only reason I don't use Spotify

New apple podcasts app is terrible but this is one of the core reasons I'm not switching to spodify podcasts.

I would really like the ability to speed up podcasts too, along with a broader selection of podcasts.... So i can only have one app.

Just to add my vote for this feature. I won’t ever use an audiobook or podcast app unless there is 2x-3x playback speed. I listen to quite a bit of both and would never go back to 1x.

Spotify is useless as a podcast player without the ability to adjust playback speed. Most avid podcast listeners at least want the option to speed it up. Why would anyone use Spotify for this when there are so many other players that have this basic function?
