[Radio] Modifiable Thumbs up/down

1) Change Thumbs up to Thumbs Down

2) Change Thumbs down to Thumbs up

3) Remove thumbs up

4) Remove thumbs down

5) See a list of your thumbs up for a playlist

All of these should exist, if not in the app at least on the website.

Updated on 2019-05-23

Hey folks,

It seems like this idea has evolved into a lot of different threads over the years. Quite a lot of the features requested do exist, so I'm going to mark this as implemented - but if you feel like your specific idea isn't there please feel free to make a new idea

As a heads up, Thumbs up/down has been replaced by the Heart/Remove symbol across all platforms. Let's address some of the main ideas that have been implemented:

  • It is now possible to undo Heart or Dislike actions in your Daily Mixes, Discover Weekly and Release Radar. If you Heart a song, simply tap the Heart again to get rid of it.
  • When tapping the Dislike button, you'll get a choice of 'Don't play this song' or 'Don't play this Artist'. Tapping either will prompt an Undo option at the bottom of the screen for if you hit it by mistake, or your cat walked over your screen (@dredel)

  • Tapping Heart will save that song to Your Library, so you can head there to check out all the songs you've liked. This will also include Songs and Albums you've saved in other areas of the app. I couldn't find an idea for a playlist specifically of just liked songs (without the rest of the library) so it would be a good suggestion for a new idea.

I hope this clears some things up.

@Moomina  and @nbeaudrot what? Which platform are we talking? Can't seem to find a "liked from radio" list in the windows application?

I was actually thinking something down that line. Meaning a simple "edit radio likes/dislikes" list where all the songs you have liked/disliked for a given radio station are listed an can be edited.

Shley

Nevermind just found out you can delete that list and  I probably have at some point. Seems a little moronic that you actually can delete it... gnaaah

Edit: and you can create the list by liking songs on you iPhone but not by liking them in you windows application c'mon thats just lazy implementing...

Look I played around with paint!

A edit button could simply be placed on each radio station in the overview... (or one could make some room for it just below it)

Pressing it leads you to the edit list for the specific radio station... it could look like this for iphone (obviously there should be a back to overview button somewhere 😉 )

Swipe to delete and otherwise you can just toggle between like and dislike. There even is a search bar to look up a specific song you want to edit...

Something similar to this could be done for the windows application....

Not sure why this WASN'T implemented in the first place. It sort of goes hand in hand with a thumbs up/down system, ESPECIALLY when applied to something as subjective as music, where accidents can happen and tastes change. Since there's seemingly no way to delete and remake stations, this is rather... necessary. I'm not sure just how much you'd have to add either, but nothing really has to change with the loadout, it'd be highly intuitive.

I don't understand how Pandora can have some simple features like undoing a thumbs up but spotify can't figure it out? I should be able to advance back in the radio play list and thumbs down or up a song I forgot about and I should be able to change my initial thumbs up or down action. I don't see why simple features as these cannot be implemented now and other more complex navigating requests can be worked on...and implemented later as need be. I also like the option on Pandora where you can say that you like this song, you just don't want to hear it for a while, because i find myself disliking songs i'm tired of hearing, which messes up the station.

I'm pretty pissed that this is not a feature. I was using the mobile app in the car and accidently thuimbs downed a song on one of my fav stations, good song too. The thumbs down button IS RIGHT OVER THE HOME BUTTON in a mobile Android situaton.

That in itself is a design flaw.

I started Googling how to remedy the situation, only to come here and find it is not possible?!?! NOT POSSIBLE?!?!

Well, you know what? On Pandora, it is possible. And another thing. You can go in and add seeds and remove seeds from stations with a handy web station edit page.

I will consider dropping Spotify.

To those here who say this isn't necessary or a good idea, you either haven't tried it, or are retarded. So shut up.

As I am still in my Premium trial and am looking for something to spice up my commute having moved recently, I am quite concerned with this issue.  The Spotify radio stations are bad enough compared to the big P but the convenience of being able to listen to whatever I want whenever I want almost makes up for it.

If this was implemented, it would go a long way towards convincing me which premium service I'd get.

I am particularly unimpressed by the thoughtlessness of this implementation -- that's my main problem here.  Overlooking things is one thing.  Overlooking making thumbs up a toggle rather than a permanent state makes me believe that the radios were a gimmick added on to make Spotify a competitor to Pandora rather than just a competitor to Google Music.

So we don't have a solution yet ?

Just to be able to switch from one to another maybe ?

I'm thinking about unsubscribing only because of this.

I heard a song on the radio that I really liked and attempted to thumbs it up. Instead, I accidentally hit the wrong button, and the song switched before I could even look at the title. I've now been listening to 12 years of Jay-Z for 50min trying to find this song. Please move the buttons so they aren't next to each other, and allow me to look at my "thumbs-down" and "thumbs-up" songs. If not on the mobile app, put these options on the computer version.

It would also be nice to simply replay those songs from within the radio app.  Again, if you're not paying close attention, it can be difficult to know which song you loved and which song you just sorta liked as a friend.
