The Inbox/Messaging feature did not get a real shot at even being a feature because Spotify took away notifications for new messages. Give Inbox/Messaging some development so users can continue to privately share songs.

Dear Spotify developers. Add a chat feature with a friend. While you are listening to music with friends at the party, you could chat directly on Spotify and offer your tracks and albums for listening together.

I'd love to see Spotify introduce a built-in feature that lets users share songs, albums, and playlists directly with friends inside the Spotify app, without relying on external apps like WhatsApp or Instagram.

Currently, sharing music requires sending a Spotify link through another app, and the recipient has to switch apps and open the link before listening. It's a small but frequent interruption that makes sharing less seamless.

A simple in-app "Music Inbox" or lightweight chat would let users send music recommendations directly within Spotify, with an optional short message or reaction. This would make sharing faster, improve music discovery, keep users engaged within Spotify, and create a more social experience without turning Spotify into a full messaging platform.

Spotify has become one of the best platforms for discovering and sharing music, but sharing songs with friends still requires using other apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, or Discord. I would love to see an optional Direct Messages (DM) feature that lets users communicate inside Spotify. Suggested features: Send songs, albums, playlists, podcasts, and artist profiles directly to friends. React to shared music with emojis. Start a Jam or listening session directly from the chat.Show what song a friend is currently listening to (if they choose to share it). Give users full privacy controls, such as allowing messages only from mutual followers, followers, or nobody. This feature would make music sharing faster, improve music discovery, and make Spotify feel like a more social platform while respecting user privacy.
