[Social] Bring back Inbox/Messaging with Notifications

The Inbox/Messaging feature did not get a real shot at even being a feature because Spotify took away notifications for new messages. Give Inbox/Messaging some development so users can continue to privately share songs.

Why is this feature removed, without as much as a little hint that it was going to be removed.

Sharing music within the app was a great feature!

Bring it back to us who don´t want to share over a social network, like Facebook

Spotify inbox was the main reason that I fell in love with my partner! How could they just remove it with little to almost NO notice? First it was the subtle removal of inbox notifications then overnight the entire inbox is gone, there wasn't even an option to at least transfer those shared songs to another playlist. I'm so upset and disappointed! The messaging function was something I'd used everyday and even after deleting Facebook, I was quite happy saving songs to be sent to my partner via the desktop for listening later. Please bring it back, WITH notifications! It was a my most loved feature of Spotify!

Have you not just done away with one of your USP's?

Sharing music this way is far better than other methods (who the **bleep** wants to share through social media?). We use the inbox as a way of saving music. Ive been introduced to so much music through mates sending me tracks and albums and Ive now lost all the albums which were saved in my inbox! 

Please bring it back! ...and please re-enable the 'unread message' icon.

Yeeeeees!!!! I thought there was something wrong with my app first. I don't understand why they decided to take it away. I want to share the music that I discover and I like. Please bring it back!!!

Came here to agree with this whole heartedly.  The whole sharing over facebook/twitter thing is trash.  I like to share playlists with friends of mine directly through spotify.  what the **bleep**?! why take that away?!! It was super useful!

Also I have no idea how to start a new question thread on this thing.

One of the features that I feel like really distinguished spotify from other music platforms like apple music or pandora was the ability to send songs. It encouraged sharing of music, new artists, and collaboration between people all over. I'm disappointed that this feature that I regarded as one of spotify's best is no longer available.

The ability to directly send individual friends music on Spotify was one of my favorite things about the app and I am upset that it is gone.
