[Social] Bring back Inbox/Messaging with Notifications

The Inbox/Messaging feature did not get a real shot at even being a feature because Spotify took away notifications for new messages. Give Inbox/Messaging some development so users can continue to privately share songs.

Bring it back! Inbox and message feature had low usage because alerts sucked and inbox was hard to find and navigate, NOT because it was a bad feature. How in the world can people use an inbox if they aren't properly alerted when something is in it?? However, even with the poor functionality it was a feature me and friends used weekly and the main reason I was attracted to Spotify in the first place. Sharing publicly on Facebook or Twitter is NOT the same or a viablie replacrment. Please bring it back!

We are not able to share collaborative lists among spotify users anymore that are not on social medias like facebook... like my wife, 12 years old girl or my TV.

Really, I don't need messaging... I just need to collaborate or share playlists with other Spotify users. Why rely on other social media to allow sharing this is crazy!

Agreed. I'm really disappointed that my entire inbox was deleted without warning. One of my best friends lives on the other side of the world and 5 years worth of music exchange and entire letters were in my Spotify inbox. I'm completely floored by the apparent oversight. How did nobody think that your customers should be warned that they were about to lose their entire iboxes? You essentially set fire to years worth of correspondence that is irreplaceable to me. Please bring it back. And if there's some corner of the internet where my inbox can still be accessed, please let me know.

spotify you got to be out of your minds.  bring this back, and make it work properly and you will see a whole bunch of 'engagment'.  this is like when you removed the 'filter' function for a while.  it truly made me wonder if you actually use your own product..

This needs to be a feature in my opinion. It would make it easier to interact with people whoyou share playlists with and to be able to comment and such on the playlist. O do think Messaging/Inbox needs to make a return in the app. I think this would make the app much better in my opnion.

One of the only reasons I choose Spotify over other streaming services is the social connectivity on a personal and professional level.  Being able to make collaborative playlists to share with specific people and being able to share records, songs, playlists with specific people was one of the most important features to me.  As a musician, being able to network with the musicians you work with and have specific lists of songs everyone is working from is huge.  At the same time, you don't always want everyone tho know what your working on with a band.  I know the messaging system always kinda needed work but I'd prefer for Spotify to fix it and keep it in there rather than have to always use some external app, text, or email to communicate within the social context of Spotify.  Please bring these functions back, I'm seriously considering finding other options if this is the future of Spotify.

I always use this function to sent cool new songs and albums to my music buddies. I don't really like of using any other service for that matter. Cool music deserves its own place without the risk of being overlooked.

Yes, to what everyone has been mentioning. Bring it back. Sharing music was the reason I joined Spotify in the first place. Instead of sharing YouTube links to songs over and over to multiple people, I could just send them a song, and they were on their way to listening to other songs from that band. 

It has always had its issues, based on notification problems, but being able to go back to that one song my friend sent me a few months ago that I couldn't remember the name of was quite beneficial. Aside from creating playlists, it is the best feature Spotify has, and based on what others are saying, is something we want back ASAP. Put me down as one of those people.
