[Social] Bring back Inbox/Messaging with Notifications

The Inbox/Messaging feature did not get a real shot at even being a feature because Spotify took away notifications for new messages. Give Inbox/Messaging some development so users can continue to privately share songs.

It will be grade to have the chat community righ in the Spotify app or a community app for Spotify it's not always possible to login in the web browser I I'm a heavy music user and use the app 8 1

To 10 hours a day I'm on all the time so to have the chat there wlll be grade I move from appel music to Spotify and love it will not going back

I agree! I think it should be more like a "shared album" like with photos, so instead of searching through "Spotify DMs" for a song someone sent you, it goes into a "shared with you album" that says who each song is from. Then when you feel like listening to songs you might not know but that people have recommended to you, those are all in one place. This also eliminates the "urgency" of listening to songs that people send to you right away because this often ends with people putting them off and then ending up not listening. When it automatically goes into a new "shared with you" playlist, you listen whenever you are ready. I think people would send more songs to each other and it would create more community within the app. Sending and receiving songs through imessage feels like a bigger deal than it should be.

Messaging existed before, but it was removed due to lack of engagement. People weren't ready for it.

If you added messaging back in 2025, I think it would totally explode! ❤️

there have been many people who have requested their want for a chat feature, but since spotify has yet to add that back, I have another piece of feedback for the social aspect of spotify. I was thinking of trying to contact a user through collaborative playlists, jams, and the such. instead of needing a third-party application to share the spotify link to get someone to join in on a playlist, jam, etc., I'm hoping for a way to just simply invite someone within the app. you can search for profiles, in people you follow or follow you perhaps (preferably they don't HAVE to be a friend/mutual!), and then request them to join your thingy. then they can recieve a notification for it and either accept or decline.

It's quite annoying that when I want to share a song with someone I have to send them a link via an external app (Discord/whatsapp/messenger etc.) What's the point of being able to follow other users when I can't:

• Easily share a song
• Easily share a playlist
• Easily make a collaborative playlist
• Easily make a blend playlist

It seems the only thing that friends are used for is a Jam session, but that rarely gets used because it really only works for when you are in the same vicinty as the other users.

Make use of the friends/follow feature please!

It annoys me a lot to see my followers and knowing that i dont have any way to communicate with them. Because i genuinely wanna talk to someone who's in my followers list. So please spotify add the feature to chat with your followers please.

Please DO NOT implement this. I want spotify to focus on bettering the algorithm, instead of wasting their time and energy on some social media function
