  • When somebody subscribes to your playlist
  • When somebody "follows' you or adds you as a favorite
  • ability to interact with users via their Profile page

You done a great job of launching apps (looking foward to more!) but its still tough to really communicate with other Spotify users.

  • Notification when an artist in your library has new material added to Spotify

 

I'm happy as a clam to announce that we're currently in the process of rolling out a new version of Spotify which contains the notifications requested here. With Spotify, you'll receive a notification when somebody subscribes to your playlist, when somebody "follows" you, or when an artist you "follow" adds new music to Spotify.

Why on Earth has the notifications bell gone? As a dj, lots of people start following me but I have no idea who or when so I can't follow them back. A related problem is that the list of followers is random. If new followers were added in order, it wouldn't be so bad.

I never seem to get notifications from artist I follow, even though I have all the available choises of notification enabled. Mail and push.

 

Are you sure this function works as intended?

Hey @Merzbow,

 

I'd suggest to check swarm.fm for notifications on your followed artists.

Companion for Spotify also works for Windows 10, which is also available as an Android app.

Please, get notification ON! It's so awful that someone beginning to follow me, or even better, following one of my playlist, and I'll never know that! The only way possibile is to check my follower list, and see who's new.. but it has no sense! We're in 2017, notifications are the thing! Spotify has to be more social for people who want it like that, if you aren't a social one, you can get off, have no friends, have no connection with Facebook... but I'm in the group of those who like notification and and social actions. Please read this and do something quickly.

Yessss! especially the 'when an artist adds new music notification', but not only as a notification, but could also be added to your 'personal home page'. It's so annoying I need to look for it myself to see if they added something or not.

So have been dying to get this feature added to Spotify. Not sure why it takes Spotify such a long time to add such a basic feature. I mean, who else can notify us other than the streaming companies? (besides the artists themselves of course). In the world we live in now, this is a must.
