[iOS] Split Screen Support

It would be awesome if spotify could support the IOS 9 Multitask Split-Screen feature ...!!!

I’m so surprised you’ve not developed this. I like to use my iPad and see what i’m listening to at the same time. Based on the comments and votes, I’m not alone. 

That, together with the Siri integration, are the only reasons I’m looking into Apple Music again.

Sadly this feature is deliberately not being implemented by Spotify. No reasons are given and all that is received by Spotify support is vague misinformation.

Oh my god not yet? 2000 dollars and every months pay for Spotify for nothing? Why not right now? Right now! If this not happen, I switch to apple music! It’s not bad, just I don’t want lost my spotify, but if not work with my bigger device f**k!

Well, I’ve waited long enough...in just a few weeks, my phone plan will be changing & offering a 6 month FREE subscription to Apple Music. That will be perfect timing for switching and having split screen! Guess Spotify will start losing loyal subscribers with an opportunity like this!

Hey Spotify if you’re going to call Apple out for not being able to implement features Apple Music can use you should at least support basic standards like this.

Do you use some really bizarre UI Building technique? Because if you work with UI Kit and subclass your own views properly, implementing split-screen isn't really that difficult. You just need size classes - You don't even need to support dynamic resizing like responsive web design or a traditional desktop app. Just give the iPad information about how to render your interface in different size classes (and considering you also have an iPhone app you basically have all the puzzle pieces). 

I initially assumed the reason you hadn't yet implemented it, was that your restriction about whether shuffle or free song picking is allowed for free users depends on the screen size, but you could just extract the device name from iOS. All iPads are over 7". If you want to protect against a future iPad less than 7", I also believe you can query for full screen size, not just active window size, but otherwise, just keep a list of known iPad names and update the app when a new one pops up. 

Split screen should be a required feature for iPad apps that aren't full screen games. And even they should probably support slide-over in most cases

As you point out this is not hard, however, It is clear that Spotify have no intention to implement this feature. In fact this feature is deprecated by Spotify.

Spotify support don’t have a clue as to what is going on they have been saying it’s under consideration for over two years.

It is perfectly obviously Spotify don’t listen and don’t care.

Split view is available with Apple Music app. Spotify keeps lagging behind....Please improve. Thanks.
