Add a "dislike" button, so the algorithm will stop playing songs I dislike

Hi there, i'm Rodrigo

I noticed that after some of my playlists are over i get the random songs, but sometimes this things is playing songs i'm starting to dislike. I liked them before, but the software is so annoying that plays this songs constantly that made me dislike them.

So, how about to add a "dislike" button for songs? I mean, right now the software only allows us to "like" the songs and to add them to our favorites.

Please, improve the UI.

Cheers,

-Rodrigo.

this button should also work for podcasts. We need a way to tell Spotify we don’t like something we’ve tried or it’s suggested so it stops auto playing it for us. If it’s added for music, it should be hard to extend the feature to podcasts.

I hope rude name calling people like this who expect everyone else to respect their wishes somehow get removed from this fourm. They offer nothing  but anger. A easy fix would be to create their own Playlist and stop thinking their opinion must be accepted, Not too many of us will miss them when they are gone. They can go to X FB and whine all they want where no one cares.

Since there's been no updates from Spotify about adding feature parity across platforms, fixing recommendations, or allowing songs to be hidden through a dislike button, I'm switching to another platform.

It's discovery algorithm is already better than Spotifys and it lets me sound ID songs within the app. Hope maybe one day Spotify listens to its users, but I'm closing my account now.

I recently stumbled across a option I'd never seen before,Could be New.Could be helpful.

After previewing a artist I didn't care to hear again.

I right clicked the album looking for options, One was "Do not Include in my taste profile."

Not exactly what we were suggesting but much closer than the current practice of adding everything we sample to our profile and having it pop up on every search, Check it out.

They do not care. Give them a one star review.

It seems weird to think they do not appreciate that while this small improvement to their product would go down so well with customers and that they pay money in royalties for music that is not wanted. It’s their money I guess. Waste is the way things are today.

I hadn't thought out the $ angle , I wonder how artist get included in our choices?$. Does a Stadium filling group get the same $ as a one hit wonder garage band? Some great talent gets missed. Some providers charge a DRM Digital Rights Management fee, Someone has to pay it? Even if it's skipped/blocked?

Introducing new "talent" might be welcome, If they are my type. Or "not one of my preferences" even some music from my favorite artists get skipped or deleted. It's always been the producers/promoters making the choices $.

A easy choice "I never want this noise on my device". Everything else is shades of gray. We should be able to decide,or just create our own lists. I wonder how many DISLIKES would be stored/allowed/recorded/blocked? 50-100-1000? Votes wouldn't please the listeners who appreciate some of those noises. Skip works too if the button is close by. I've over played a few of my personal lists, Just tired of hearing them. They are still favorites. I'm shopping in the recommended suggestions.Creating new lists upgrading old ones.

Yes, please: Like + Dislike belong together. No AI can recognize what I think!

SoundCloud has the same problem: no dislike button, so suggestions and personalization are very poor.

Weird how Spotify is happy to pay royalties for playing songs their listener does not want to hear
