Add "remove video content" option to Spotify Family

Please add an option to "remove video content" to Spotify Family! Since video podcasts were added, my children now watch videos on Spotify instead of listening to music.  I had given them unlimited access to Spotify (unlike other apps) because it was only used for music.

All you'd have to do is add another toggle for "remove video content" next to "Remove explicit content".

Spotify Kids is not an option for us.  My children are teens and tweens.  And because they're teens and tweens, they have a very difficult time turning off compelling video content (just like some adults).  If Spotify becomes just another screen to stare at, I'm not sure we want to keep our Family membership.

It's a shame that I have to restrict the time kids can use Spotify just because of the stupid video playback. I'd love them to be able to listen a lot of different music, and maybe some occasional podcasts, but as unlimited access to Spotify leads to long video marathons, that is not the case.

Do I really have to start looking for other alternatives?

Just adding this functionality on Family isn't enough. There's just me and my kid at home so we're on Duo. I'm actually just going to close my Spotify account. They've basically ruined it for us.

Long time family plan subscriber here as well.

Over a year ago the linked feature suggestion was flagged by spotify for consideration but still nothing to help us parents.

The only option spotify provides is use a competitors service, so that is what we'll have to do. Such a shame to have to move on because of this, its always been such a great app.

We'll be moving to Apple Music.

My 9 year old daughter was watching a "Podcast Video" that was just a compilation of TikTok videos someone edited together.

The videos are not the intellectual property of the person posting so is Spotify ok with stealing other people's content? The videos are also not marked with the "E" for explicit despite the language being VERY explicit. I know the onus is on the person posting the video to self-report but Spotify should be trying harder to police the content being posted on its platform.

Looking at other idea suggestions, this has apparently been an issue for years, what is the delay in implementing a "block video podcasts" option?

I just discovered this issue. Disappointed to see that there is no easy solution when there should be. Apple Music, same price, better parental controls.

hard to believe that there is still no progress on this. it's really easy to implement. looks like I have to chaneg back to another streaming service

Adding one more voice to the need to restrict or block videos in Spotify. Our kids are too old for the kids app, which met the need up to about 5 years old.Elementary school age kids and older are too old for the kids app, and we want them to be able to access the music to listen to when they want to. What we DON'T want is another app with video content! Especially one with zero controls. We've been Premium Family subscribers for years, but this rapidly eroding our trust in Spotify. We should not be forced into accepting video content on an audio focused app. At LEAST give us an opt out.

Our elementary age kids just made us aware that there are now video podcasts on Spotify. Looking into it I'm realizing it's not new, and that the need to restrict this for kids in a family account is a long standing issue. So, here to add one more voice to the need to restrict or block videos in Spotify. Here to also add my voice/vote for this. Come on Spotify, help parents and kids enjoy music WITHOUT the noise. Please, give us an option to block/restrict videos.

My 10 year old daughter fessed up to me about discovering a way to watch YouTube videos in Spotify. I had no idea videos were available in a MUSIC app!!! Bless her honest soul… I’m conflicted as a parent because I’m thankful she told me (knowing videos/Youtube was against our house rules), but now I’m faced with removing Spotify altogether because I have zero ability to do anything about it.
